When I first saw this book at the library the name and the cover of the book kind of looked silly so I got it. I wasn't expecting the book to be anything great and it wasn't. It wasn't really scary, but it was still worth reading. Anyways, this book is about a boy named Tim who loves magic. His favorite magician is Amazo and someday Tim wants to be a magician just like...

A Kid's Review
When I first saw this book at the library the name and the cover of the book kind of looked silly so I got it. I wasn't expecting the book to be anything great and it wasn't. It wasn't really scary, but it was still worth reading. Anyways, this book is about a boy named Tim who loves magic. His favorite magician is Amazo and someday Tim wants to be a magician just like him. In the book Tim gets a ticket to go see an Amazo show, but it isn't until ten at night and his parents won't let him go. Tim really wanted to go see the show so he sneaks out at night with his sister to go see it. At the show Tim gets to talk to Amazo and he turns out to be mean, so Tim decides to steal his bag of magic tricks. This book isn't scary and nothing really that exciting happens until about the end of the book. Even though this book wasn't the best goosebumps in the series you should still definitely read it.

The setting is in present time. Tim gets tickets to see a magishon who is his hero Amaz-O. he asks his parents if he could go see Amaz-O , but his parrents said that the show is too late. His little sister overhears him ask his parents if he could go see Amaz-O and she says that she wants to go too. Tim and his sister later that night sneak out to see Amaz-O. When they got to the club that Amaz-O was perfoming at called midnight mansion, they tell the gards that their parents were parking and be in soon. O their way in, Amaz-O wisperd in tim's ear, "i'm going to use you in my final act." Amaz-O does some pritty amazing tricks and he gets to his final trick. He says that he will pick someone out of the audience to help him with his final trick. Tim gets picked to go up on stage. Tim gets put in a magic box and Amaz-O makes him dissapear. Amaz-O dodnt realy make Tim dissapear, he just made Tim fall in to the bastment . While in the basement he heard everyone leave.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, April 19, 2000

Great book! I totally freaked out because of the horrible comments some people wrote about this book! I loved this book, it's probably the best Goosebumps book I read so far. I love the cover, I thought it looked like my bunny I have at home. I wish I could turn into a bunny like Tim's sister! I recommend this book to everyone! I give it a zillion stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars Magic tricks that go awry, June 1, 2010
By
I read this "fun scary" book to my 7-year-old son and we both enjoyed it.

It's the story of a 12-year-old boy who wants to be a magician so badly that he pushes things a little too far. It has some inventive twists and scary moments, and keeps you guessing right up to the end.

We've read a lot of the Goosebumps series and while none of them can be considered groundbreaking literature, they're always good for entertainment.

3.0 out of 5 stars This hare is no Easter bunny, March 10, 2010
Tim loves magic. He wants to be a magician and he loves to entertain his friends with his tricks. Unfortunately his little sister Ginny loves exposing his tricks in front of his friends. His hero is Amaz-O. One day the owner of the magic shop gives him a free ticket to an Amaz-O show. It's late at night so he sneaks out to go. After the show Tim stops by Amaz-O's dressing room. To his big disappointment all the magician says is "Beat it, punk." In anger Tim steals Amaz-O's magic kit and makes a run for it.
At home he finds that not all magic is trickery. The kit has many surprises for him and his sister.

This is an okay story. The plot is okay. Far from being a favourite.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh my God, July 1, 1998

I have read every book in the first goosebumps series and this is so rubbish I couldn't be bothered to read all of it. My favorite goosebumps books Say Cheese and Die and Say Cheese and die again are 1'000,000 times better than this and I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone.
