Book Description

September 10, 2007
Tom Seiler has vices and virtues. He drinks, swears, and often struggles with his perception of revenge and justice. But the former NASA design engineer also sees life in simple terms - right is right and wrong is wrong. An expert at all things mechanical, Seiler and his family are drawn into a dangerous conspiracy involving a tractor-trailer collision killing four siblings in the small town of Alvin, Texas. During his analysis of the accident, he methodically discovers that a powerful Houston attorney, in a pre-tort reform strike at the trucking industry, planned and orchestrated the murders. The stakes in Bad Intentions are immense - an up side of a quarter of a billion dollars or a down side of lethal injection at The Walls prison in Huntsville, Texas. Geographically stretching from Houston to the beaches of Indianola, Seadrift and Port Aransas, Texas, Bad Intentions weaves a captivating tale of terror and ultimately carries Tom into a life and death struggle at an abandoned airstrip. He complicates matters during courtroom litigation with his stunning accusation that the attorney has committed murder. Caught in a maelstrom of complicity, Seiler's major adversary makes a final, fatal, decision. And the story's gripping end leaves a tantalizing opening for future confrontations.

Great mystery book with lots of action and colorful characters. One of those fun, easy reading books but I did finish it faster than I wanted. Hopefully, the author has more in the works.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Bad Intentions" lead to a Great Story., October 22, 2009
This review is from: Bad Intentions (Paperback)
In the beginning chapters the the location and charactors are introduced and given life. You know how the people in the book think, feel and live their lives. They become real. Even if you've never been to the Houston, south Texas area, you can feel the heat and humidity, the desolate roads where story takes place. There is an unfortunate accident where a family is mostly destroyed and powerful and corrupt individuals try to use the legal system to enrich themselves. Another accident(?),a corrupt lawyer, four dead, and potentially $250,000,000 in a wrongful death jury award. It is up to Tom Seiler, the main character, to bring the guilty parties to Texas justice. As the book got closer to the end, I couldn't put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why Miller Lite?, January 13, 2008
This review is from: Bad Intentions (Paperback)
Bad Intentions was a great read and a fun courtroom/investigative drama. I was engaged from beginning to end and it did not drag anywhere. The characters were believable and the story was compelling and well told. The technical explanations of accident analysis were clear and made the story more realistic. My only problem with the main character was his choice of beer. He drank about three Miller Lites per chapter; I hope that Jack Grubbs was well paid for product placement. I look forward to the next installment of this trilogy and hope that the main character will start drinking better beer. Great book -- and a lot of fun to read.
