Don't watch this movie with a serious attitude then give a bad review because you watched something you know you weren't going to enjoy.

BAD MILO is a comedy-horror film about a monster that lives in a guy's butt.

I'll let that settle in for a bit.

Okay. By now you should've already decided if you want to see this film. If you are even remotely interested in butt monsters, then you will enjoy this film.

If you're on the fence about butt monsters, you should start being honest with yourself and admitting this is not really something you can be on the fence about, and you are probably just deluding yourself out of shame. That's alright. Trust me. It's perfectly natural to feel a little shame. We're talking about the entertainment value of butt monsters.

And therein lies the beauty of this film. The fundamental criteria for the worth of a film lies on whether or not it achieves its goals. Depending on how a film presents itself, on the power of its basic premise, a viewer approaches (or should approach) the experience with certain base-line expectations. When a movie's immediate goal is to tell a story about a butt monster, that automatically lowers expectations. No right-thinking viewer is going into this thinking they're going to get the Citizen Kane of butt monster films.

Given these lowered expectations, how fun it is when the movie lives up to them and more! What a nice surprise that the movie isn't jokey in a hokey, predictable way. (Again, for a movie about butt monsters.) What a delight to see the very dedicated and very sincere performances from pretty much everyone in the cast. My hat is off to Ken Marino, who plays our lead, the man who is the grievous host for the butt monster. He went for every grunt, moan, and scream like he was scrabbling for an Oscar, and no, I am not being sarcastic.

Every so often, a film comes along with a concept that succeeds in making you speechless. Bad Milo is one of those concepts. The film follows Ken (Ken Marino), an ordinary guy in an office job and in a loving relationship with his girlfriend Sarah (Gillian Jacobs). However, Ken begins to experience intense stomach pains from time to time, during which murders always seem to occur as he blacks out from the pain. It comes to Ken's attention that there is a demon dwelling in his intestines that reacts to his emotions. Ken enlists the help of strange therapist Highsmith (Peter Stormare) to control his constant anger and in turn control the demon.

This film is definitely a love-hate affair with me; while the film is mainly meant to be viewed as a black comedy and not as a horror film, to be completely honest I find the majority of the comedy in this film to be a little too senseless to the point where a lot of it comes off as trying too hard, especially in the first 20 minutes. The acting can seem over-the-top to the point where it is painful and some of the facial expressions, especially on the part of Ken, do seem forced. However, as soon as Milo the ass demon is introduced it all seems to fall more in place; every scene containing Milo seems to be a shining moment and with him comes a couple interesting conventions, such as the interesting handheld POV aspects as he sniffs out his victims. The death scenes are fulfilling and actually pretty original and there's more than enough here to make up for the monotony the films starts off with. And while we're on the topic of the demon, I never thought I'd ever call an ass demon "cute" until now.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. It has an interesting story and great actors. Ken Marino, Gillian Jacobs, and Peter Stormare?! I would watch any movie with either one of them. Put all three of them together in one movie, add an ass demon named Milo, and you get movie gold. I really hope you give this movie a chance, it doesn't disappoint.

Bad Milo! is a good horror-comedy that could've been a great one if it had a higher body count and if it didn't get a little too serious toward the end.

I just watched this movie and I loved it!! It is silly but well done. If you don't like literal toilet humor don't watch this but I thought it was fantastic for what it is.

I had been looking for something this awesome to watch since Amazing Stories' Hell Toupee, and I finally found it! a horror comedy that is equal parts weird, crazy, hilarious, inappropriate, and COMPLETELY gonzo--this is what you want to watch for a good laugh with friends--or a date with a good sense of humor (plenty of toilet humor churning in this one!). for anyone with gi issues, ibs or a stomach flu...fix yourself a pot of star anise tea with slippery elm, drop some oil of oregano in a glass of water daily, drink plenty of fluids, watch BAD MILO, and call me in the morning ; ) Enjoy!
