I'm like you. At least when it comes to judging entertainment. I didn't see this movie at the theater. I, probably will wait until the price comes down then purchase it. I too want to be entertained when I watch a movie, same goes for video games. I don't like to go into some cerebral mind set when I sit down to have fun, nor do I want to think I'm on some documentational learning expedition picking apart the directorial shortcomings. I just want to have fun. I bet this movie is a blast. Monsters, heads rolling, blood, anticipation... I wonder how many really believe they have to justify the adventure, instead of just letting go and having F-U-N?
It is a very enjoyable popcorn movie with excellent cgi effects. If you like Niam Neeson, you will like Zeus, Persius. played by Worthington, kicks @$$. Hades sucks though and does not look one bit evil. Fight sequences are nice but the story is pretty shallow. For me it was an entertaining action movie.
I saw this movie with my dad in the cinemas when I was little. Sadly, my dad past away last year due to heart failure. But this was one of the happiest moments in my life growing up as my dad did not have much time to spend with me, and I've always enjoyed this movie. I'm grown up now and I took my family to watch it, even though the reviews were not all that good. I still enjoyed it very much and my family did also. I am curious what the blu-ray version alternate ending is though. Appreciate if anyone could tell me as I am trying to figure out if I should get the dvd or blu-ray version. Thanks and I hope this helps.
It is a bit puzzling to me. I own and love the first one even though graphics and special effects were nowhere as impressive as the current one. True the story and scenes are a little different in the second also yet there is something that draws me to the first as "cartoonish" as it may have seemed at times. Nevertheless I will be buying the second one also and would urge persons to still see it for themselves despite the reviews.
Well, I finally watched it. And I must say, I really liked it. Maybe it was all the bad reviews which lead me to think it was horrable. But I very much enjoyed it. I didn't get all wrapped up in the story, but it was a lot of fun and very entertaining. They way people talked about it, I expected it to be really corny. But it wasn't, it was a fun adventure film.
I enjoyed it so much in fact, that I bid on it on E-bay and I WON it for $13.01 brand spanking new.
I am glad I took a chance and watch it. It could have been like all those other movies which get bad reviews and I pass on them. I'm glad I took a chance.
Sometimes you have to. You SHOULD watch movies for yourself and form your own opinion.
Just because somebody trashes a certain film and calls it the worst one ever made doesn't make it true. That's only somebody else's opinion. It doesn't necessarily mean you're going to feel the same way.
