4.0 out of 5 stars Mixing Genres Key to Success for BR
Bad Ronald's self entitled CD is a mix of genres that contains something for everyone.

Some of the tracks on the CD are big time rap songs; all the rhymes are very funny, making the CD truly a joy to listen to. Other tracks on the CD, such as "Lost on Tour" and "1st time" combine the Rap with almost a ska feel. It doesn't have the ska feel as do...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Whole New Genre
You've seen the dancing condom and other raunchy characters on the Barney/Sesame Street mockery of a music video for Bad Ronald's "Let's Begin". If you liked this song, then you should be satisfied with the remainder of the album, which can be be best described as an interesting clash between, say the poppy-hip-hop-melody/rap of LFO and the edginess of perhaps...

It doesn't have the ska feel as do Reel Big Fish or Goldfinger, but it is more ska-like than any rap group out there today.

If you're a person like me who's comfortable listening to anything from P Diddy to Snoop Dogg to Reel Big Fish to Barenaked Ladies, pick up Bad Ronald. Their nonsensical lyrics make them a pleasure to listen to all the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD, December 15, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I first heard of Bad Ronald watching MTV and saw their music video for "Let's Begin" a few years ago. Ever since then i've been hooked. Their music is a mix of hip-hop/rock with a happy and humorous sound. The lyrics are somewhat abrasive but cleverly laid out, adding to the humor of most songs. This is one CD I can listen all the way through without skipping a song. I Highly Recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Are they going to have a followup?, November 23, 2004
This review is from: Bad Ronald (Audio CD)
Thats my biggest concern. Because it has been several years since this CD was released and I have not heard word on a new album? If anyone else has, let me know because this CD was awesome.

I've had it since it first came out, but only recently saw it sitting on my CD rack and decided to take a listen to it again. It's still as good as it was when I first listened to it. It has several standout songs, Lets begin, bad idea, lost on tour, and 1st time, but the rock remix of Lets begin was probably the song I enjoyed most. Also, the hidden track was well done.

It's definitely at least worth a listen to, as I was hooked after hearing their Lets begin song and also watching their hilarious music video.

5.0 out of 5 stars Purely Awesome!, May 11, 2004
This review is from: Bad Ronald (Audio CD)
I bought this CD the week it came out, from hearing the song "Let's Begin (Shoot the S**t)" on MTV. The video and music was great, so I decided to give them a shot. I was not dissapointed! Every song on this CD is great, even the skits/instrumentals. These guys are talented with their comedic rhymes about drugs and sex. A must buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bad Ronald, April 10, 2002
This review is from: Bad Ronald (Audio CD)
I'm not into rap,but these guys are ...awesome!They combine a little of alternative rock/rapish kind of humor style into their music. And when i mean rock/rap no,i don't mean like those other sell-out commercialized bands that sound all the same! These guys have a unique sound all of their own.I highly recommend Bad Ronald if your into bands like BloodHound Gang who also have a sick and funny sense of humor. And Sugar Ray who they kinda sound like a little. But over all,an awesome debut from 3 sick twisted MCs and DJ!Awesome album guys!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Needs to trim the fat, October 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Bad Ronald (Audio CD)
Bad Ronald would be the fattest group out right now, if it werent for Kaz. Who is this guy? He just does not fit in with the witty lyrics and voices of the 2 MC's. DJ Deetalx is pure talent and White Owl and Doug Ray couldnt be a better match. Unfortunatly, they let some loser Kaz into the group and he is cramping their style. He takes hard funny lyrics and turns them soft. Get rid of him please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure lyrical Genious. (except for 1 member), October 15, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Bad Ronald (Audio CD)
These guys are ill. DJ White Owl's rhymes are whitty, smooth, funny and raw all at the same time. Doug Ray comes in and hits with the deep smooth flow which is wild also. Deetalx is an unbelieveable DJ who can compete with the best of them. The weak link of the band is Kaz. His lyrics are weak, his delievery is even weaker, and his whole style is played out. His "I'm 1 week away from a mullet" haircut is ridiculous. He is holding the group back from being the top of the game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Phat party tunes!!, October 8, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Bad Ronald (Audio CD)
Came across this band while driving away from the city for a drinking weekend with a car full of dudes. The CD delivers on its party-beer vibe! Definitely check out the hidden track after the last song; it's your back to basics solid rap.

Great party cd. Just pop it in and let it rock. These guys know how to have fun and you can feel it through their music. At this price you can't lose. Hilarious interludes as well. Rock on!
