4.0 out of 5 stars Does not disappoint
A BCUK album seems to always contain two discs. The first consists of songs that are hit or miss, but the latter is a mix CD that makes your purchase worthwhile. They did it on "Shot Down on Safari," and they do it once again on "Bad Taste." The first CD contains some alright songs, but the mix CD on the second disc is high quality. I have listened to it over and over in...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard and bangin', good mixing, no soul
This is a good filler CD into your collection of Dieselboy and Alliance and the like. The mixing is good, technically strong but there are some odd decisions for which parts of the tracks to mix into and out of. There is usually a point wherein the mix becomes really fluid and momentum builds, however this record doesn't have that. It's a good collection of a bunch of...

I have listened to it over and over in the week that I have owned this CD, and it is one of the premier DnB mixes that I have ever heard. I would highly recommend this to DnB enthusiasts (who should already own this album) and new commers alike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Total agree, April 9, 2006

The Second cd is best, Mixed very well, good, dark, hard, I paid 25 for it at a local shop, soo I was dissappointed at first, I honestly dont even touch the first cd after I listened to it, unless to mix. The second is the mixed version with a few extras. I like it for the most, I love a few songs a lot... good addition for the used price!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must own for any everyday DNB - Junglist, March 21, 2011

Just about one of the best Drum 'n' Bass compilation albums I've bought in a long time - - well worth the $12-$15. Faves include the first six songs (Meditation, King Sasquatch, Blow Out, Facing the Sun, Loader, Through My Eyes) plus Black Flea, My Dues and Werewolf. If you are new to electronic dance music be prepared for tight and heavy percussion - - well suited for listening in any car or truck with a couple of 10's, 12's or 15's. Only negative was the mastering levels of the second CD (mix) were a little lows-heavy, but that's not too bad a knock. Even though it's now 6 years old, go and buy this album...

5.0 out of 5 stars DJ Mendez's Style Is Unbelieveable!!, June 18, 2006
This review is from: Bad Taste (Audio CD)
I love everything about the 2nd cd. Mixed by DJ Mendez. More Darker, More Technical, Crazier sounding Drum N Bass Tunes. It's amazing how far Drum N Bass has become over the years, and this CD just proves all of that. It has some of the sickest sounding beats that I have heard in a while. This CD has got some good style to it. I give it 5 starz. And it also comes with an extra CD for DJ's to mix with. And that's even got some Tight sounding tracks on it too!!

It's a good collection of a bunch of good tracks, but it never reveals its soul like other mixes can. I attribute this to odd mix-in/out points. Overall, there's nothing especially *wrong* with this one, its just not a top ten for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, August 6, 2006
This review is from: Bad Taste (Audio CD)
This has to be the best DnB cd by bad company uk ever, the mix cd 2 is brilliant and has some very well thought out songs such as "Thru my eyes" by Alliance and "werewolf" by The Upbeats. The second cd is the best but the first one does have the best songs in their origional format from the mix. This album is better than over bad company aldums mainly because having a mix of different artists rather than just one gives a much better veriety of beats. This cd is definately a work of art.
