The previous reviewer is not reviewing this book. This version was not even available in April 2015 and is not on Kindle. It is an enhanced version of the original of which I was lucky enough to be loaned an advance copy. I enjoyed it so much I've ordered one for myself. I was familiar with the original "Baddeck and That Sort of Thing" but had not realized the serendipitous connection to Alexander Graham Bell. As entertaining as the original was, this version has so much more to offer. The publishers have done a super job of gathering relevant photos (the original had none) and it is chock full of additional bits and pieces of information that make the original story much clearer and enjoyable. An included follow up article (Baddeck and That Sort of thing: Twenty Years After), written 20 years after Warner's trip to Baddeck, offers even more, from the narrative to photos, describing the experience of travel at that time. A lovely little bonus is the foreword by Hugh Bell Muller who talks about his experience spending childhood summers at Bell's Baddeck estate, Beinn Bhreagh. This is all together, an enjoyable trip back in time offering more to the hindsight of Baddeck's history.

As a travel log of late 19th C

I find his attitude a bit condescending though his geographic descriptions of the Lake is spot on

It is a gorgeous area and warm people in today's world

Have been to all areas he covered and will return soon
