After the boys are done playing in the day time they can continue to play at night. The ball lights up like a star. Excellent investment for anyone who has kids around 12 and 13 years old!!!!

This is the second ball of this type that I've had from Baden. The first one was a UW Badgers branded ball that was much more of what I considered a junior size. It was a great ball, and we took it with us everywhere. The size and design of the 'mini' badger ball made it perfect for throwing around in a hotel pool, at the beach, camping, and just about anywhere. After 7 years, the ball finally fell apart, and I had high hopes for the replacement.
Everything about the design of the ball is what I was expecting (minus the branding, and is 5 bucks less), but the size difference is a disappointment, particularly because they don't offer the 'mini' size on amazon. I'm still going to order another UW mini ball, so the younger kids will have a good ball to play with, but I'm glad I have the bigger, cheaper one for the bigger kids to play with.

I had read online that you can get these types of glo-in-the-dark toys to glow brighter and faster with a uv light source like a black light or a green/blue laser pointer. I didn't have any of those, but realized my new flowtron bug zapper has a black light, and after holding the ball up close to the zapper (about 6inches) for just 3 seconds, its fully charged on that side, and will stay charged for a long time.

One of my sons got this glow in the dark football as a gift 3 or 4 years ago, and besides the cool glow at night, this is a fun ball to play with because the surface of the ball has such great grip. After playing with it for a few years, it finally lost it's cover (from playing in the street and repeatedly hitting the concrete)... and I went on a quest to find a replacement. After searching 4 or 5 sporting goods stores without success, I finally decided to search online and found it for sale here on Amazon. I found a few other glow in the dark footballs in stores, and my sons were with me a couple of times and they were NOT interested in any other ball. My 2 sons both loved *this* ball, and will be VERY excited to have a new one this Christmas. Highly recommended. At the time of this review, my sons are 14 and 17 but they've already been playing with a ball like this for a few years. Get one, and enjoy!

This was purchased as a gag gift for a football coach (who practiced many hours in the dark). Now I can't get the boys in at night. These are a lot of fun. We are on our second one. The other one lasted about 3 years.

It's worth the money. The ball has a good grip and glows as you would expect. You need a high powered light to get it to have a high glow. I use the car lights with beams on high. It doesn't hold a charge after a few months of use. The ball seems a little bigger than a junior grip.

I bought one of these at Target today for a little bit less, but it is VERY bright, I'm just trying to figure out how to get lights on this thing to get it bright enough (being an awkward shape and all)

Texture wise, the dots are grippy, but it has a slight slippery touch to it, not oily, but brand new it can be hard to pick up at times.

Can't wait to take it out tonight and throw it around!

I had been looking at the nerf balls for my 10 year old brother who is very much into football, after seeing how they withstood terribly in test I found this, in stores they are $30' so when I found this i jumped on the chance!! I am glad I did! My brother goes out every night with the neighbor hood kiddos and they play hard they all love the glow in the dark football so much! I recommend this to any young athlete!
