3.0 out of 5 stars Too Greasy
If you're looking for an organic hand cream, then this isn't a bad choice but I find it to be too greasy. You have to really rub it in for it to absorb into your skin and this still doesn't completely remove the greasy feeling. A better recommendation is O'Keeffe's Working Hands Creme.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Stuff On Earth!!, December 12, 2006
My mother introduced me to Badger Balm a few months ago while on vacation in New Hampshire. I tried the Cuticle Care Balm on my rough and cracked cuticles and just fell in love! I actually woke up to nail beds I had never seen before - soft, healed, and smooth. I was hooked! Upon my return home, I ordered almost all the Balms this company makes. Each one is uniquely amazing, but my tried-and-true favorates are the Healing Balm, Cuticle Care Balm, Foot Balm, and the Highland Mint Lip Balm. I use them all the time and my skin has never been so soft. Even those "hard to heal" cracks in my driest parts don't stand a chance against these balms! I used the Healing Balm on my toddler's eczema (I had tried everything and saw no results) and she was cleared up in about two days time. Just amazing stuff.

They smell wonderful, can be used anywhere, and truly work! Try it on lips, hands, feet, and anywhere else you feel chapped. I now buy these products for all my friends who now are "Badger" converts. Trust me - use this stuff and you will be too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally something that works!!!, November 21, 2006

I have had a terrible time with my fingers cracking and bleeding in the winter. I've tried everything!!!! A friend of mine recommended Badger Balm so I ordered it on line. In less than 3 days all of my fingers had healed and I haven't had a problem since.

When you first apply Badger Balm to your hands it may feel a little greesy, but within min.'s it absorbs in and you won't feel greesy at all after that.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has given up on their cracked and painful hands. You are in for a pleasant surprise!!

5.0 out of 5 stars miraculous stuff, September 15, 2008
I have been using Badger balm for about 8 years now at the time I write this. It comes in other varieties for other specific or niche purposes, but this is the original that started it all. It used to be that after a hard day of working on weeds or with the shovel, it would take me a week to get the cracks out my hands. But Badger is the best thing I have found to cure them fast. Put it on and don't mind the greasiness, keep rubbing it in and it goes away fast. The full size tin lasts me about 2 years, so it is a good deal. Badger is the good stuff for your cracked, chapped, rough and weathered skin. The scent is mildly sweet in a woodsy kind of way, as a guy I really like it. It is the scent of sweet Birch.

The manufacturer says the birch has been traditionally used as an antiseptic, a muscle rub, and to ease the occasional symptoms of skin problems like psoriasis and eczema.

Now this may sound weird but, if you have old wood handle tools, this does wonders to preserve and restore the wood handles. I heard about and it worked for me on an old hammer handle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing and very appealing!, January 12, 2009
I first discovered Badger products at a Cracker Barrel. I was very intrigued by the lip balms and the "headache soother" balm, especially when I noticed that Badger products are certified organic and only contain natural ingredients--no chemicals whatsoever! I bought the "headache soother" and the "highland mint" lip balm, which just made want more Badger products, so...

Later on, I bought the healing balm. It is a very simple formula: a base of extra virgin olive oil and beeswax, (which is the base for most of their balms) aloe vera, castor oil, and sweet birch. When I first opened the balm and smelled it, my olfactory senses were overwhelmed by the fresh wintergreen-like scent of the sweet birch, so fragrant and so different, and yet not overpowering. And as the name would suggest, it is very healing as well. Great for any dryness or any other skin irritation, it goes on smooth and glossy (a little goes a very long way) and absorbs quickly. Within a few applications, my hands felt smoother and looked healthier. I am very satisfied with this product.

I am also very happy to find a company that makes products with only natural ingredients. It is very hard to find this. Believe me, I have looked and even when you can find a product that contains many natural ingredients, it almost always is accompanied by chemicals, dyes, etc. Not Badger; they are totally pure and that is extremely important to me!

5.0 out of 5 stars ~*~*~*~GOODBYE DRY HANDS~I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BADGER PRODUCTS~MANY USES~*~*~, March 15, 2010
This review is from: Badger Healing Balm (Misc.)
The Badger products I have used are AWESOME!! They include this Healing Balm, Night Night Sleep Balm & Badger Sore Muscle Rub.

This balm is something that lasts a long time, the consistency is like a tube of chapstick, you just rub your fingers across the balm and it feels kind of greasy and doesn't seem like you have gotten enough but you just need a little bit. I thought it would be more like a salve & I am glad it isn't because it wouldn't last long. I just rub my fingers across the balm and smear it on my hands or anywhere that I have dry or irritated skin, it normally takes me several swipes across the balm to get the amount I want.

When you first put this on your hands it does feel kind of greasy but not wet and it easily smears all over. Within about a minute the greasy feeling is gone although your hands will still be really shiny & they will feel really smoothe.

My hands get really dry from constant washing since I have twins and change a lot of diapers, clean up lots of messes and try to prevent germs. My nuckles would crack and my hands would get itchy but right after I put this balm on my hands the itchyness would be gone and they would immediately feel softer.

When I use this on a regular basis my hands stay healthy, no dryness or cracking. I actually have the scented one, it only smells when you put it on and I think it smells like wax lips(remember wax lips, those were fun)

I recommend getting the 2oz for home or if you can store it at work & the smaller one if you want to carry it in your purse or have in your car.

This also works on cuts or any dryness or irritation and it NEVER stings!!

The Night Night Balm works wonders for my daughters, I started using it when they were about 13 months but I wish I had had it from birth. I'd like to give the Sleep Balm a try for myself. The Sore Muscle Balm works great too & it isn't over powering like most peppermint ones, it is also probably safe to use while you are pregnant, next pregnancy I'll be asking my Dr if it is safe to use.

If you have any questions about this balm, leave me a comment & I'll try to answer it for you : )

5.0 out of 5 stars good product, good seller, December 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Living in a very cold snowy climate used to mean spending my winter with bandaids on my thumbs. The dry cold cracked my skin and I was always doctoring little bleeding splits. I use Badger Balm once or twice a day - rubbing it in good and then putting a coat of my favorite smelling hand lotion over it to seal it in. Viola! No more cracks!

Good shipper/ seller too. Fast and reliable. I'll be ordering more soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST FOR RAZER RASH, January 9, 2010
By
This review is from: Badger Healing Balm (Misc.)
I originally got this stuff as a freebie from a tool company who carried it for the types of cuts and abrasions wood workers often get. While it's excellent for that use I've found it's absolutely the best for soothing the type of rash some of us get when shaving. I occasionally grow a beard and after about a week or so I need to seriously trim my throat area. Typically I'll suffer "boiled lobster" syndrome for a couple days.... not pleasant. Badger Balm applied after shaving this sensitive area works miracles in preventing the redness, irritation and subsequent itching better than any other product I've tried, including antibacterial creams. This may not be a typical use but, for me, it's worth it's weight in gold.

Sometimes I just don't understand amazon. They list this product as being unavailable, yet clicking on the product page offers numerous sizes and various marketplace sellers, at least two of which are fulfilled (and eligible for Prime) by amazon. However, should you not be able to obtain it from amazon sources, Lee Valley Tools carries it on a regular basis.
