Badger Sunscreen the best!,
By
This review is from: Badger Organics Sunscreen Spf 30 2.9 Oz (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
We started using Badger last year after reading the EWG sunscreen guide -- they update it every year, if you want to know what's in what you put on your body, read it (and contribute if you can so they can keep working on it! - ewg.org). We prefer the consistency of this to other recommended sunscreens. It seems to stay on for a long time and my child prefers the feeling of it on her skin. It has a slight scent, but not a chemical one, actually similar to the natural bug repellents we like as well! Price can't be beat when it's offered as a 4-pack. They used to carry this at Whole Foods, but haven't seen it there recently. It's also in a size that can be carried on a plane, which is very convenient. Trying out their lip balm, too!

Great sunscreen!,

This was a great sunscreen! I was a little nervous of looking like a "Cullen," with a white sheen as others have mentioned, but with a tiny bit of effort, all the white was rubbed in. I did get burnt one day, in Hawaii, after playing in the waves for six hours without reapplying, but my husband, who used a "conventional" sunscreen was much worse off than I was.I'd buy this again, and will!

Not Water Resistant,
By Babs McBee (Silver Spring, MD) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Badger Organics Sunscreen Spf 30 2.9 Oz (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
I used this product on a recent beach trip. The label says that it "retains SPF after 40 minutes activity in the water". That is a lie. I applied the sunscreen liberally and even waited 15 minutes before going outside to really let it soak into my skin. I was only in the ocean for about 30 minutes before heading back inside for lunch, but I ended up almost as burn on my face as if I had not worn any sunscreen at all. This product seems to work well for dry activities, but does not seem to be all that water resistant and certainly does not live up to the claim on the label.

I miss the Original Older Formulation that had Ylang Ylang & Morrocan Blue Tansy,
This review is from: Badger Organics Sunscreen Spf 30 2.9 Oz (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
They changed the formula from the Older Original Formulation and took out some of the essential oils I really really liked in the original :( and it seems to dry out my face now when it didn't used to with the old formulation... this is why it is getting 3 stars. I am not sure why they took the Ylang Ylang oil and Blue Tansy out, those do not cause skin sensitivity to the sun. I feel like some of those essential oils actually helped to insure the sunblock would not cause breakouts on people prone to breaking out. I know for me it helped A LOT!I loved the original formulation it was great and smelled so much nicer. I usually would put the sunblock on and then put a light fair color powder over it to help offset the wet or white look it may leave and I had been getting many compliments on my skin! I even had a friend comment on how lovely it smelled because of the lavender and Ylang Ylang essential oil. Now that the formula changed I have to deal with more dry patches occurring on my face :( Badger please put back the Ylang Ylang and blue Tansy in the formulation. Also, note that the new formulation is now 18.75% Zinc NOT 20.5% Here is the new Current formulation ingredients: Non-Nano, Uncoated Zinc Oxide 18.75% *Olea Europaea (Extra Virgin Olive) Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, *Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Essential Oil of *Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), and CO2 Extract of *Hippophae Rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn).

i love this sunscreen - we can't get it in Australia so I stock up every time we head to the US. It smells amazing, is totally natural, and protects my family's skin.

This sunscreen and the entire product line by Badger is affordable on that very popular auction site we ALL know. Take a LOOK. I have been looking for a 100% USDA Organic sunscreen, does anyone know of any out there? On Dr Mercola. com I found some interesting info. on sunscreens and boy was I surprised! Take the time to check out what your rubbing into your skin because it's just as important as what you eat.

I love the fact that this sunscreen is approved by EWG however it goes on very thick and white and gets into the creases of my skin and there it sits. I am way too vain for this look and I think it irritated my face anyway.

This is the only sunscreen I use. It has almost no toxins and it doesn't burn my eyes or lips when applied. It does leave you a little pale, but it provides great protection and is comfortable to wear.

This is an excellent sunblock. It needs more effort to rub in, but will protect you from sun damage.
