This review is from: Baensch Aquarium Atlas : Photo Index 1-5 (Hardcover)
The Baensch Photo Index 1-5 is one of the most recent additions to the fine series of Baensch aquarium books. Excellent from a technical perspective (a clean, easty-to-follow layout with stunning photography) the book really excells because of the huge amount of information it packs into a small space. It is ideally suited to the task of fish identification, although the sheer number of species listed may make this a daunting task for the beginning hobbist. Potential buyers should note however that the amount of written information in this book is not as extensive as other volumes. Rather than a deficiency, this has to be viewed as a necessary evil, as the book's aim is to present as much as it can while remaining portable. Even so, the information listed is nothing to scoff at. This book has become my most used reference source and I highly recommend it to beginner and advanced aquarists alike. |
