Way overpriced piece of plastic,

Shame on me for believing Larry Storey's review, above. From a quick search on Google, it seems he's one of the founders of the BagButton company.
I'm unsurprised his "purchase of the Bag Button has been a prime example of how an online purchase should be experienced." since this being the case, he could grab one off the shelf. I am surprised he would write such a review without mentioning the fact. For anyone considering buying this, I suggest the following free, yet equally effective and quicker method: Take one garbage bag, thickness not important and fill with your stuff. Twist the top closed a bit, though not enough to entirely prevent air escaping. Then kneel on the bag to get the air out. When satisfied, twist it some more then tie a knot in it.

Good concept. Results vary.,

I found while looking for the original vacuum bags.
This concept seemed woekable, so I took a chance. I bought several types of bags. 2mil, 3 mil. Many that seemed very sturdy, were too thick to work with. Others that seemed too thin, were the only ones than actually fit the bag button. After a few days on the closet shelf, tied with tie wraps and/or tied AND twisted, or both, the vacuum seal was already going away. At least the items inside would stay clean, despite losing their vacuum and expanding. A+ for theory and A+ for creating a neat looking gizmo to fit the vacuum. C thru a D+, for vacuum longevity; while stored.

Don't Waste Your Money!!,
This review is from: BagButton Vacuum Space Bag (Kitchen)
I purchased one of these last year, and what a MAJOR waste of my money! The very next day after using this "button" the "seal" had broken & the bags were full of air. Waste of my time & money!

Good idea, REALLY poor design,

This product is one of those where the inventor had a good idea and made a product in the cheapest, most poorly designed way possible. The idea of using regular trash bags as a vacuum bag is a good one and I had hoped that this product would help overcome the 2 big problems with just sticking a vac hose into the bag that you want to use - namely that the bag itself wants to get sucked into the hose and that you lose the vacuum as soon as you remove the hose from the bag.
Using the Bag Button does help a tiny bit with the first problem but what happens is the inside of the bag gets sucked into the hose which is just as limiting to the process. The second issue - that of losing the vac as soon as you remove the hose from the bag could have been solved if the manufacturer wanted to spend another 2 cents on providing the product with a one way valve - instead, you get that little plastic plug you can see in the package and you use that to stop the air from rushing back into the bag - until it breaks off as it has for almost every reviewer here. Mine broke off on the third bag....I'm returning the Bag Button for a refund. This is a product that couldn't have cost the manufacturer more than a few cents to make and they sell for $15.00 - even that I could accept if it worked worth a damn - it doesn't. It could have been vastly improved if they hadn't been quite so greedy and spent another few cents to make it with a one way valve (like Space Bag). As a final note, it included a few free bags with the product - again, the cheapest and most poorly designed possible. The bags are gathered at the bottom to give you a round end (unlike most bags I buy that have a squared off bottom)...what this means is that the nice comforter you carefully folded and placed inside quickly becomes a wadded up ball at the bottom of the bag - poor quality, poor design, cheaply made - you'll be much happier if you look at a couple of the how to videos on youtube and make due without this. just double bag your stuff and you'll be fine.

HUGE waste of money,

I wish I would have read these reviews before I bought this item. It simply doesn't work. Yes it takes air out of the bag but it doesn't stay sealed for more than an hour. I went out and bought commercial grade clear bags and it still wouldn't stay sealed. Don't bother with this its hugely overpriced for something that does not work!!!!!

I was thinking you could use this when traveling and could just suck the air out with your mouth but you need a vacum for this to work. Additionaly, this device depends on your ability to twist and tie of a knot which won't slip or leak, leaving alot of user error that will inflat our stuff.

Niffty iteam, but it's made of really cheap lastic, the hinge broke the first day I used it. Can be kind of hard to sperate from the bag at the end of the process, but over all I'd say its a half decent product. You might need to experiment a little to find a good plastic bag. I liked using clear kitch can liners, but to 50 gallon bag is too big for the button.
