I purchased the brown bag with pink lining. The bag is very well made. The stitching is solid and I think it will last a long time. It has plenty of room for all my devices. The tablet pocket has more than enough space for my Samsung Note 10.1 tablet. If anything, I think the tablet pocket has too much space. The length and depth were perfect fits, but the pocket is also about an 1 - 2 inches wide. I would prefer if it were like a sleeve with a more snug fit. That would also create a little more room in the main compartment, something that I think would benefit the design.

There are three zippered pockets; two exterior and one interior. On the exterior, there is a small zippered pocket on the front and a larger one on the back. The small one is good for things like cash and anything you need to access quickly; it is even accessible when the flap is closed. The inside zippered pocket is pretty large, it's almost big enough for a tablet itself. I keep my Kindle Paperwhite in there with its cover on and there is still room for more stuff, if I wanted.

In the main compartment, there are also two open pockets and two pen pockets. I have a huge phone (a Samsung Note II) and there is plenty of room in the open pockets for it and it's case.

The bag can be worn as a small backpack, but I am only interested in using it as a cross-body bag. It works perfectly for this.

I took off one star for style. The thing I don't like about the bag is that it is very boxy. It is also much taller than it really needs to be, which adds to the boxiness. The other issue I have with it is an oddly placed strap. When you open the flap, there is a nylon strap over the main zipper. I can't figure out what its intended purpose is. It doesn't seem to do anything but get in the way.

This backpack has a wonderful visual appeal and has the exact organizational features I was looking for. You've got a small outer zipper in the front, a wide deep zipper in the back; to open the backpack you have to lift the magnet clasp and open the zipper to the backpack itself. Inside, you have a padded pocket for a small tablet or e-reader, an internal zipper pocket, ID / card holders, two small pockets (think cell phone sized) and two pen holder pockets. The bag is tall enough to hold a 23.7oz water bottle and deep enough that you can't even tell that's what you have in there.

The problem I have with this backpack is the strap. There is a metal ring at the top center part of the backpack and two metal rings on the bottom left and right corners. To use this bag as a backpack, you have to attach one strap clasp to the bottom left ring, pass the entire strap through the top ring, and attach the second clasp to the bottom right ring. What you end up with is a lopsided triangle of a strap that constantly slips around that top metal ring because there is no way to attach it to anything, and this makes it difficult to put on the backpack and adjust it in a way that it lays as a backpack should. Plus, even after you've managed to rearrange the strap so that it falls evenly, taking off the backpack is just as annoying because the strap will slip through that top ring and the entire bag will fall upside down. This would definitely send all your contents spilling to the floor every time you take off your bag unless you remember to fully close the bag's zipper and make sure the magnet clasp is in place, which seems ill-advised considering you have pockets to put credit cards in and those could easily come tumbling out if you mean to use them.

The fabric of this bag is satiny/very dressy, but casual enough for everyday. The storage compartments are clever, living up to the Baggallini reputation.

To Use the Straps as a Backpack:
Many reviews of this bag and of the other Baggallini backpack (Partner Backpack, which I also purchased for similar reasons) note that the straps are annoying when used as a backpack because the bag slips around too much. There are two solutions to this problem:

    Solution #1:
    - unhook the strap from the main bag
    - fold it in half
    - take that folded center area and slip it up through the round ring at the top of the back of the bag
pull it through that round ring so there are two or three inches of that fold above the ring
    - then, take the two ends (which have the hardware/clasps) and pull them through the loop you just made in the strap itself
    - at this point, work the straps so that there are no twists
    - take the ends of the straps and clasp them to the two D-rings in the bottom corners

You should now have what looks like a neck-tie knot around that large ring at the top of the back of the bag.
Now you can use this as a backpack without worrying about the bag slipping all over the place when you put it on one strap at a time.

    Solution #2 -
Don't use the strap which came with the bag. Instead, use two straps with clasps at the top and bottom, and hook the top of the straps to the O ring and the bottom of the straps to the D rings. [...] sells high quality/low price straps I've used for this. The 1-2 foot strap from them is the perfect size.

Advantages of Solution #1 - The original strap is nice and lightweight and can be clipped to the bag to make it a shoulder/cross body bag.
