Terrific Bag - Lightweight. Bright pink inside so you see everything. Big enough for the essentials but not deep enough to have to go digging. A key tab and a little zip back on a leash. Two zip pockets inside and pockets for cell phone and elastic for pens. Wipe off material. Waterproof. Handles are large enough to go over your shoulder while wearing a coat. Functional and versatile but chic styling and colors. The hardware, rivets etc. does not make the bag heavy.

My friend got this bag about a year ago and it is still going strong and then I bought a very,very expensive bag and in less then 4 months it started to fall apart so I decided to buy this one to replace it. So, HAPPY that I did, it is amazing. Very easy to keep clean, has little "leg" on the bottom so the actually bag part doesn't touch the ground, hot pink inside makes it easy to find things. Loves that it zips and clips shut so when running around don't really have to worry that things are going to fall out. Fit everything that I need and more with all the zippered pockets inside and out. Has a great clip inside for keys which at first thought was really dumb but now I LOVE it. Have the same amount of things from the other purse in this one but the way it is shaped makes it feel lighter on my arm and it doesn't slide of. Worth every penny!!!!!

I use this bag whenever I travel. It easily fits under the seat on a plane and when rolling my luggage, I can slip it over the handle, making it one less item to carry. The top zipper opens very wide, allowing access to anything inside. (While in a NY airport a few days ago I was using this bag and a woman commented as to its capacity and stylishness.) For extra security beyond the top zipper, there is also a clasp closure at the top.

This is the third Baggallini I've had. (See my review for the Around Town Bag: No Frills Best Bag I've Bought, June 9, 2010.) The handle is made of the same fabric as the purse, unlike many of their other bags that have canvas webbed straps. This handle looks more stylish and less utilitarian. (By the way, my objection to the nearly-perfect Baggallini bags is that ugly, webbed strap. And the metal slider for adjusting the length of the strap never seems to stay put.)

The only improvement that could be made to this bag is the outside zippers. While very handy, they are so durable and tough that, my hand gets lightly chafed when inserting it into the compartments. Since I don't use this bag daily, it isn't a problem.

I like the durability, it's easy-to-clean, and its capacity. It's more chic than many of their bags. Will I buy Baggallinis in the future? Yes!

I just bought this bag and it now serves as my purse, bookbag, and lunch box all in one. it's extremely thoughtfully made, and it makes organizing your things very easy. it seems very sturdy. my only regret is the material it's made from is a little industrial. i'm not as fond of nylon as is required, but i get the logic behind it because it's very easy to clean (wipe with damp cloth). it's a great buy for somebody who has a lot of different places to be and different things to take there but doesn't want to have to repack everything every time she goes out. i also really like the little wallet and little key holder inside because it makes finding your more important items easier. i keep my phone in the front pocket for easy access, and the front pockets are much larger than they look in the photo. overall very good buy.

I love this bag!!! I first saw someone with it on the train in NYC and spent the entire time studying the name so I could go look it up. Finally I found it and it was affordable! I've abandoned all my other bags since....this is just so practical and as an added bonus, it's gorgeous!!

Like almost all other reviews here, this bag is wonderful! I just got it so I can't speak to how long it will last just yet. But I wanted to mention a few things that were surprising because they were different than what's in the pictures. None of them were of any major consequence, I don't love the purse any less at the moment, but I thought to mention it.

In the picture, the inside zipper compartment is above the wallet/phone/lipstick compartment. The one I received actually had the inside zipper on the opposite side, beneath the 2 pen holders. It's actually better this way than in the picture.

Also in the picture, the coin purse has a little slot on the outside for an ID. That didn't exist on the one I received. Again, not a big deal since I wouldn't have used it anyway, but it was surprising to not see it since it was on the picture so prominently. I don't know why the change.

Overall it's a great purse so far - fits all of my stuff which I find amazing. We'll see how well it lasts.

I love Baggallini & I bought this in the lovely pewter color. I was looking for a less casual bag in grey for the fall/winter and I love the shape of the Shanghai Satchel. The problem I had with the bag is the size. It is a long bag and with the stiff bottom and doctor's satchel opening (both details that I like very much) it was overwhelming for my size (I am 5' 2"). I know not to judge the shape and hang of a bag with it's factory stuffing still in (it's true, your bag will probably never be that filled out) and I always empty a bag to check the feel and look. This bag was still too big. If only if were 2/3 the size (or a 1/2 sized mini version would be adorable!). There is an ideal amount of organizing spaces (sometimes all of the card slots are a bit of overkill) and the hardware is top-notch. I also love that the bag opens with a double zipper (no fumbling about searching for which end the zipper is, when they meet in the middle) and you can open it WIDE when needed. The double rounded straps do not slip off my shoulder. I think I will try again with the slightly smaller Valencia (which also comes in a gorgeous graphite grey too!). So sad to send back a Baggallini...

I love Baggallini bags, and I love the Shanghai Satchel, great Leaf Green color I wish it was a little smaller.
