About the Author

C. P. Srivastava, formerly of the Indian Administrative Service, served as Shastri's private secretary when the latter was in the central cabinet as Minister for Transport and Communications, and then for Commerce and Industry. In 1964 he joined Prime Minister Shastri's secretariat as aide. After Shastri's death, he served as Chairman and Managing Director of the Shipping Corporation of India and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1972. (REAL NAME)
with so much corruption and dishonesty in the world i was amazed to read a book about an honest politician
as prime minister in india during 1970s lal bahadur shastri has been shown to have demonstrated the utmost integrity in his dealings with countrys such as pakistan and other world leaders.
as socrates said a benevolent king of a man who stood only for truth.
mr. srivatava knows his subject well as clearly demonstrated in this well researched and readable book
i wholeheartedly recommend it to any disillusioned voter or humble politician.

Sir C P Srivastava has been an outstanding diplomat backed with prolific academic credentials. His close association with the Prime Minister Shastri has been an experience worth sharing. This book gives a deep insight about Shastri's political life, to which Sir C P Srivastava has been an ardent witness.

A must read for those who believe in importance of truth in life ,and not just politics.....
