Amazon.com Product Description

The Bahco heavy-duty scraper features a durable 2-1/2-inch blade that quickly and efficiently removes paint, glue, finish, varnish, rust and more off of all kinds of surfaces. This scraper also comes with an extra handle on top of the head to provide greater leverage on the toughest jobs. Both the main handle and the top handle are made of extra strong, high-impact plastic specially designed for comfortable use. The fine tungsten cemented-carbide blade stays sharp and productive up to 50 times longer than a conventional steel blade, and it features a precision-ground, double-edged design with slight curves to reduce the risk of blade corners scratching the work surface. When the original blade finally wears down, it is easily replaceable. This product is backed by a lifetime limited warranty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Little Tool, July 12, 2000

...highly recommended. I purchased this product hoping it would be sufficient to scrape a sloppy epoxy job oozing out of my kit kayak. The 2 1/2" scraper was very solid with no flexure when I really loaded it. The soft, gummy epoxy rolled right off the wood with the new and used blades. The true test for this Sandvik scraper (for me) was the epoxy that had dried for up to a month and was nothing short of rock hard. It cut the epoxy off and lightly scraped off the most subtle of high spots. Never did a relativley-decent blade chip or gouge the work surface. No flexing, very comfortable in the hands (after hours & days of scraping), easy to change blades, and the blades were surprisingly resilient.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great For Woodworking Too, September 4, 2004

I'm into woodworking. These Bahco scrapers come in handy. Great for getting into corners to remove glue squeeze out after it has hardened. The 1" model has a triangulated blade with three sharpened edges. (So you can spin it around to change the outer edge to a fresh side) So it has a nice point to it for getting into corners without having to rub the sides of your project. I cut a kerf of 3/4" to make a crosscut miter sled, for the runner, and needed to clean up the bottom. I turned the scraper to an angle, and it cleaned it up beautifully.
I bought the 2 1/2" as well. It acts like a cabinet scraper, and you don't have to resharpen it much. If you need to take a hair off of a surface, clean it up remove something from the surface it is a handy tool. The large plastic handle makes it easy to hold. Overall does a very nice job. I recommend the 1" and the 2 or 2 1/2" as well.

I already own the little 3 sided scraper and the 2 inch scraper and have refinished a dresser with them. I should have had this monster in my hands for the the dresser refinishing job. It would have gone even faster. Recently it made short work of stripping off paint on my window sills. Be careful not to give it too much muscle. You can take it down to the wood in one stroke. So much easier and faster than chemical strippers.
