Editorial Reviews

When a monstrous freak tsunami hits a sleepy beach community, a group of survivors from different walks of life find themselves trapped inside a submerged grocery store. As they try to escape to safety, they soon discover that there is a predator among them more deadly than the threat of drowning--vicious great white sharks lurking in the water, starved for fresh meat. As the bloodthirsty sharks begin to pick the survivors off one by one, the group realizes that they must work together to find a way out without being eaten alive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great use of 3D best shark movie in years September 27, 2012
Format:Blu-ray
Lets start with the good, interesting original concept, well written, good solid acting with familiar if not very well known actors Julian McMahon of Nip/Tuck, Fantastic Four, Phoebe Tonkin of the Secret Circle, Xavier Samual of the Twilight Series, among a few others. The use of 3D in this movie is spot on lots of things coming at you nice use of depth, even some minor but important details in the water are done very well like sea snakes coming at your or jellyfish. Good Character development combine with a movie that takes itself seriously and never winks at itself gradually builds in the excitement and scares, very entertaining. Now the bad could it have used better CGI Special FX yes but considering what the budget for this movie was you will see it rises above itself much better than some of those Saturday Night Creature Features, yes I bought the blu Ray.

3.0 out of 5 stars Actually decent September 17, 2012
By Kat
Format:Blu-ray
Going into this I thought I was going to be watching some SciFi original film. But it actually was pulled off rather well and made some sort of sense. It wasn't cheesy like I expected.

The movie was filmed for 3D, which I did not get to see it in, so some of it is CGI. The worst CGI is probably right in the beginning of the film, so don't let that sway you into shutting it off. The movie has decent gore that is not CGI, and they do use a prop shark here and there.

Overall, I liked it. I was entertained and would give it 3.5/5 stars. A point off for some slightly bad CGI, but if you've seen the recent remake of Piranha then this is a masterpiece when it comes to CGI.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superb 3D; Excellent Shark Horror/Suspense Shocker! February 1, 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
"Bait" is a really unjustly neglected gem of a horror movie. The sharks look real and are cunningly menacing and truly frightening. The 3D effects are startlingly good, with plenty of pop-outs and realistic depth throughout.
The movie is an extremely lean and taut suspense thriller. This is a real sleeper!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 3d effects! January 24, 2013
By J Booth
Format:Blu-ray
I have to admit, going into this movie I was very doubtful it would be good. To me, the only good shark movie( until I watched this) was Jaws(1st one). Although, in my opinion, it is not as good as Jaws, it was good! I was surprised to see that it had a decent storyline. I love action films, so this one did not dissapoint. I thought the use of 3d in this film was done very well! Some movies only have the 3d effect when they feel the movie calls for it, but this film has it from start to finish. I own an LG 55 inch passive 3d tv and I can tell you from watching it on my set, the 3d is wonderful! Especially the pop out scene in the begining, of the shark coming out of the screen!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome film! January 20, 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
My only issue was It took forever for my Blu-Ray player to get an update for it's firmware to actually let me play it in 3D. There were cheesy parts, but I love shark movies and this one mixed it's CGI and real model sharks perfectly! Loved it, such a fun movie. One of the best shark films I've seen in a while.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bait Was Great January 15, 2013
Format:Blu-ray
I purchased this movie on an impulse. Normally what I do is ,if I am interested in a 3-D movie I would check it out in 2-D and if I liked it ,I would then go for the 3-D verson. Well, this was on sale so I took a chance because of the reviews I saw. I must say I really liked it. The story kept me interested, and I felt the 3-D was outstanding. I have several 3-D movies, and the 3-D on this one ranks pretty high. There were some scenes where I said to myself WoW how did they do that? For entertainment value I give it two thumbs up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bait on Blu Ray 3D January 7, 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
After a robbery gone wrong in a local supermarket Queensland Australia a deadly Tsunami hits the beach community and a group of survivors from all walks of life end up getting trapped in the submerge supermarket and as they try to escape to safety , they soon discover that there are a couple hungry great white sharks starving for fresh meat and as the sharks start picking the survivors one by one the group realizes they must work together to survive .

This is a good movie and a lotta fun from start till the end with a good clear picture and sound as for the 3D side of it : I replaced 3 receivers & 2 TV's in 3 years give o take so just building up my 3D collection for now even so the 2D picture is pretty good ... I recently bought a 3D Led TV and saw Bait again in 3D this time & would have to be one of the best 3D Movies next to John Carter so far .

Bait 3D & Blu Ray comes in the one disc and a DVD combo pack , R rated approx 93 minute ... Good Show .
