I was born and raised in Mexico, along the San diego/Tiajuana border. This book was given to me as a gift because I used to go out and party in some of the clubs mentioned in this book. Let me tell you, what this author wrote is fun and exciting to read but downright stupid and dangerous.

I don't care what you see in the movies, if you hand a Mexican Official money to get out of trouble, you better hope he doesn't haul you in on bribery charges. As for the HOT clubs, watch out! Many of the baja clubs, even the upscale ones have cuties working inside. They will steal your wallet in a heart beat(explain that one to your wife!). This book makes for good reading, but you're a fool if you believe what you read in this book. I don't recommend following any of the tips provided in this book, you could end up in jail or seriously hurt in Mexican clubs.

At a book signing party, I received my autographed copy of "Baja by Night". I am a Gringo living in Mexico for a year now, and not too much of the wild sort. After reading this book cover to cover, I may change my ways and start exploring!!!

I find "Baja by Night" to be a cornucopia of honest information on how I can get into and, more importantly how I can get out of trouble. It covers every taste and even sexual preference. I find it to be lacking in photographs, and I felt it needed more maps, but on the whole I am impressed with its practical content, the book does not read like an "address book". I also appreciate its honest reviews of where to spend my money.

If anyone is planning to get wild South of the Border, I feel this is a pretty good primer.
