More About the Author

Judith Stone grew up in Kent, England. She took to cooking and baking as a young girl, helping both her mother and grandmother in the kitchen, which started a life long passion for good food.

Judith began entering cooking competitions in her teenage years, before getting a job as a food writer for a local newspaper. Later she started her own catering business, catering for weddings and other events. Throughout this time she developed her knowledge and skills, and her love of food only increased.

He lifelong passion for cooking, and testing and collecting recipes, led her to begin writing recipe books. Drawing from her early influences of home cooking with her grandmother, her years spent as a food journalist, and her experiences in the catering industry, Judith's "Cook like a pro" series are short collections of high quality, easy to follow recipes which are sure to bring a smile to your diners faces again and again.

I have an earlier version of this title and it has been my go to source for pastries. I have several of Judith Stones cook books and have not been disappointed yet. Since I don't consider myself much of a cook I rely on her books because they're easy to follow and I've had good results with all the recipes I've tried.

This book is one of my favorites because I'm basically a sugar freak. I try to bake at least one thing from my copy of this book each week. More than likely when I've baked each one of her recipes from this book I'll change my review to 5 stars but for now I have it at four stars only because I haven't tried all the recipes out yet. Thanks Judy for another one of your excellent cook books

I love baking but I'm generally not very good at it, however this book made me feel like an expert. I can't tell you how amazing it is to be able to bake some of the things that I've really struggled with in the past.
So far I think I've tried 11 different recipes and they've all turned out perfectly.
My favourites have to be the cheese cakes, since I've never been very successful with them until now.
This is a really great and varied collection of recipes and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their baking.
