A great read that invites lots of animation on the part of parents. My son started loving this book at about 14 months and is still reading it at 19 months. He gets excited every time a character he has seen on TV appears. The rythm is excellent, the book is exciting, and has a very happy ending. We take this one in the car and my son 'reads' it by himself. A gotta have....

My daughter and I love this book (since about 18 months). The rhyming pattern is wonderful, the pictures are exciting, all in all, a great book. We like to try and find all the different characters on the page and see what they're doing. The ending is also a pleaser. It's a great transition book from picture books to short strories with a plot This is one of the best Early Step into Reading books.

This is a fun rhyming book that even toddlers can remember the words to. This was the first book my daughter was able to read on her own. It is a cute story that even grown-ups will love!

This is a great book for fans of Sesame Street, especially those just learning to read with familiar faces, and a fun story. My two and a half year old son adores this book. He'd ask to it read every day for quite a while. The rhyming is great, the Sesame Street characters are very recognizable and it focuses on Cookie Monster, my son's new favorite monster. While we haven't used it to help learn to read I think the repetition will be good for beginning readers and the story has a happy ending.

This is a wonderful book. Not only does it feature characters that my two-year old daughter is already familiar with, but she loves the story and even feels bad for Cookie Monster when it appears that he will never get a cookie for himself. The illustration is wonderful and lively, and the text is large and easy to follow. The is a great beginner book for children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for little ones who love baking, January 23, 2012
This review is from: Baker, Baker, Cookie Maker (Sesame Street) (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
My nearly three year old son is crazy about this book. He finds it very funny that Cookie Monster's cookies get eaten up before he can have a taste. My little one loves to help me bake so this book was an instant winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars I can read this in my sleep now..., September 29, 2011
This review is from: Baker, Baker, Cookie Maker (Sesame Street) (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
My daughter is 9 months old, and we taught her the word "cookies" for her paper-tasting puffs. She loves this book, because she understands the word cookie. It's a very catchy, rhyming book. We read books all the time to my daughter, and this is one of our favorites. I'm finally returning it to the library and buying it!

5.0 out of 5 stars my little cookie loves cookie, August 19, 2011

This review is from: Baker, Baker, Cookie Maker (Sesame Street) (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
My daughter loves Cookie Monster and Elmo, so I admit, by looking at the cover I thought the book was just about them two making cookies. But to my surprise, the book included all the Sesame Street characters which made it even better. My daughter loves the story, and the pictures. Not ideal for a 10 month old who thinks the book is a cookie too, but all in all the book is being enjoyed by her, and that's all that matters. Not a disappointment by any means.

My kids love this book because Mommy sounds like the Cookie Monster when reading it. This is what makes this book a 5-star. The story is also cute and the kids love seeing all the familiar monsters.

The story is simple and the short upbeat rhymes are really well written and though repetitive, not at all annoying. My 3.5 yo son asked it be read six times straight when he first heard it and I happily obliged. Most books are too dull for the parent to read for the sixth time in one sitting. My 2 yo loves it too!!
