Here's the secret -,

They RUST like a son of a gun! If you have the misfortune to purchase this pan you will need to hand wash and dry it to slow down the rust process. Mine began to show rust after the very first use. After 3 uses it had rust in several of the cups and was too nasty to use. I'm back on amazon to buy some decent Chicago Metallic pans. I'm done buying these disposable cheapies.

Rusty Cups,

The first one sent to me arrived rusted and corroding around the cups. The replacement arrived considerably better but, still with signs of rust around the rings. At $4, you certainly get what you pay for... Second one is going back for a refund this time.

Inexpensive, medium weight and truly non-stick.....,
This review is from: Baker's Secret Basics Nonstick 12-Cup Muffin Pan (Kitchen)
I tried my hand at berry muffins the other day. My main error was that I used paper muffin cups. The muffins tore when trying to remove the paper cups. The pan cleaned up with no scrubbing despite the appearance of having burned on berries/juice. Needless -to-say, I will not be using the paper cups again. They are totally unnecessary.
12/4 Update: fixed up some strawberry muffins and put batter (that contained coursely chopped, fresh frozen strawberries) in the muffin cups. The cups needed no sprays or other preparation. I popped the pan into the oven and voila! Wonderful warm muffins that popped right out of the cups. Burned on berry residue? Not a problem. 'Hint': You may want to cut a little baking time off and turn the oven down a few degrees from what the recipe says. The darker finish (typical of the non-stick pans) causes the pan to absorb more heat than the non-nonstick variety. (Sighs)...when will recipes specific to the darker finish begin to catch up with the fact that Teflon, and its more healthy nonstick coatings, have been out for 40 years?!?

Great Muffin Tin,

I gave away my pan that was more expensive, and I honestly didn't know what to expect based on the price I paid for this item. This is a great muffin pan. Sometimes I use paper liners, and sometimes I don't. But, at any rate, my muffins brown evenly, and I don't have a problem getting them out of the pan. That is the bottom line.
I clean it after each use. Washing and drying. No rusting so far, and I get a lot of use out of mine.

I like these pans a lot but I learned that with the dark color I need to cook things for a shorter time.

I needed a simple muffin pan that was nonstick and affordable. This pan filled that requirement, being the least expensive and, upon arrival, showing a quality that was re-assuring. I see no drawbacks whatever and am delighted.

Just made muffins in mine for the first time...and they slid right out of the container. These tins are a super good deal.

A great muffin pan if you use liners!,

I first thought that this pan would be a way to save $$$ on cupcake liners. Well, I was wrong! While a lot of them came out clean, a lot of them stuck a little bit.(Bakers secret isn't suppossed to stick at all). Needless, to say I went back using liners even on muffins, and this pan has been great ever since! ALL the muffins come out burn free and beautiful all the time! (when cooked for the right amout of time for your oven.). The fact that that other reviewers rusted must be a factory fluke. I have put mine in the dishwasher several times, and it has never rusted. But don't all metal pan rust if you don't make sure they are totally dry after you pull them from the dishwasher?
