I bought this product to use with holiday candy making. My peanut brittle, butterscotch and fudge did not stick at all. Great product and it fit my needs

2.0 out of 5 stars Ok, if you aren't baking layer cakes
I purchased 3 of these pans so I could bake layer cakes. The sides of the cake pan are slanted. When I baked a cake and started layering it, there was a definate Christmas tree look. Not what I want when layering and decorating. If I keep these pans I will have to trim the sides after the cake is layered and before it is frosted. To save time I will be looking for another...

4.0 out of 5 stars Sloped sides aren't the best for layered cakes, November 4, 2009

I agree with the other reviewer, Southern Princess, about the sloped sides of these cake pans. The photo looks like straight sides, but I assure you the sides are angled enough to make a mess of making a layered cake. It's extremely difficult to spread icing on the sides of the layered cakes these pans produce... it simply doesn't look neat. Otherwise, these pans do bake well and I appreciate the small handles to help maneuver the cakes in the oven, but I can't get over the slanted sides. I'll be buying different pans with straight sides to make my layered cakes with. In the meantime, I'm using these pans for cinnamon rolls, and for that they do work great.

4.0 out of 5 stars good price & quality, if you like 9-inch baking pans, October 29, 2007
This review is from: Baker's Secret Basics Nonstick 9-Inch Round Cake Pan (Kitchen)
I've already used these several times and I haven't had any issues with burning or cake sticking to the bottom or sides, so it gets cool points in that department. However, as long as I can remember, my mom always used 8-inch pans for her double layer cakes, and now I see why: because the 9-inch pans are slightly wider, it makes a significant difference in height if you use a boxed cake mix. If you bake from scratch, no problem, just make 1 1/2 times the normal amount of batter. If you use a boxed cake mix, you have 2 options: use 1 box and deal with your flat cake, or use 2 boxes so you can have a layer cake with a good height and use the extra batter for cupcakes...I prefer option #2. But if you haven't bought these yet, do yourself a favor and buy 8-inch pans.
Please note, this rating lowered to 4 because of the size, which applies to all 9-inch pans, the quality and price are both good

3.0 out of 5 stars Cake Pans are pretty good with one flaw, January 19, 2007

The only flaw that I can see with these pans is that the cake comes out dark. When you layer the center of a double layer cake with white icing, you can see the dark center as well because it baked dark on the bottom of each pan. I'm not sure what can be done to fix this using these pans. I only know that when I use my old pans that are aluminum (silver), I don't have the same problem. The cakes come out perfect.
By the way, this happens know matter what cake you make. I made a white cake, a yellow cake, a lemon cake and even a chocolate cake. All of them came dark on the bottom with this pan, and seemed a bit dryer too, not as moist. I am disappointed and I am going to buy new aluminum pans.

I've used Baker's Secret pans for years, and now, suddenly, I can't find them in the stores in my area. So I came to Amazon and bought two. I use these pans for biscuits and cakes mainly. They're light weight, cook evenly, and are easy to clean up. If you use canned spray oils (like Pam or Bakers Secret) you will get a gummy build up around the top of the pan that can't be cleaned off. They will still cook just fine, but they get dirty looking after awhile. I generally replace my pans every eighteen months or so because I do use spray oils. So that's on me, but the pans are durable. They should be hand washed, because if you put them in the dishwasher, it will cause food to start sticking in them. I will definitely buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best cake pans I ever bought., January 9, 2010

I have used my old cake pans for so many years and thought I was happy with them. Then my husband put them away in a cupboard he thought they go in and forgot where. I could not find them so bought these pans. I am so glad I could not find my old ones because I probably would have gone on for more years using them and never find out how wonderful the Baker's Secret round cake pans are. My cakes bake evenly and come out of the pans so much easier. I love my new pans. I since have found my old pans but will never bake in them again.

When I received it, I realized that it didn't match up with my SilverStone cake pans. So I returned this item, and purchased a SilverStone. I don't think Silverstone is any better than this Baker's Secret pan, but I wanted mine to match--and now they do.

At $5 per pan, you can't go wrong with these. They're not super high quality (as expected), but are actually a pretty good and definitely non-stick.
