Bakertowne's Price Guide For Mi Hummel (R): A Realistic Look At These Wonderful Collectibles!

This was exactly what i was looking for. I also bought their co-boy gnome guide. I was seeking prices that were based in reality, and this book delivered. I was able to sell some of my collection on ebay for the ranges they list. It has nearly all the hummels i needed, an if there was one or two they didn't have, i emailed them and they were happy to help me find a price! i truly recommend this book!

I also bought their precious moments guide and recently was given this book b/c i wanted to look up a few prices from my uncle's collection of hummels. I realize now i probably should have collected hummel instead of precious moments, but oh well! Anyway, i really like the book. I like that it's in chart format and I think it takes some real courage to stand up to some of the 'bigger' books out there with crazy prices. People who want to write negative reviews should go to the books with the pretty pictures and tell them that that shouldn't lie to us collectors when it comes to prices. Bakertowne's is honest, and for that, I can't thank them enough :)

I actually also bought and reviewed their guide for Royal Doultons, which i love. I recently got this book and i was very pleased. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm on a roll now! I cannot believe those two negative reviews. IT says "in an easy to use chart format," so I think they do their due dilligence... AND you can search inside! I find the prices to be refreshingly realistic and i'm so glad someone had the guts to stand up to the Miller's and Luckey's Guide. I also did some research and now realize that Hummel has to approve the use of their pictures, so I appreciate that Bakertowne's Price Guide took their own photos which is probably why there's less pictures than an approved by the manufacturer book. I don't know about you, but I'd rather get real prices than something that's been approved by manufacturers with inflated prices! It doesn't have to be pretty, it has to be accurate! This gets my vote all the way! Check out their sites too - they don't hold back on giving information - they even state on the first page, 'if there's something you don't see, just email us or visit our site and we'd be happy to help.' Who puts their email for anyone to see? I think that shows complete integrity.

I was originally drawn to this book because one of the authors has the same last name as me so i figured it was fate! But i really am glad i bought it! It really gave me an real idea of what my mom's collection is worth. The authors also put their email right in the book (who even does that these days?!) and if there was anything i couldn't find or needed help with, they answered promptly! I'm even considering selling part of my collection through their site! And get this - they just told me they have a web TV show coming out! I can't wait to watch it - They really know their stuff!

This book does provide prices, but not enough information. If you are trying to identify a Hummel collection this book, unfortunately, is not very helpful. For the money, I would suggest you look at The Official M.I. Hummel Price Guide on Amazon. It's a beautiful 400-page book filled with 2,000 color pictures. And I bought it for less than $20 on Amazon. Great resource and great price.

My mom wanted to find the value of her hummel figurines but was not able to identify them by name. She needed to match the figurine to a picture and then find the value. this was not possible with this book so she was unhappy with it.

This is the biggest disappointment ever. Not one price for any club member figure. That was the reason for purchasing this little $25.00 Phamplet. There are numerous books, all much better than this, for regular Hummel items. I really feel that I was duped. Biggest rip off ever. Amazon, you should be ashamed to carry this, especially at this price.

Sorry to say a major dissapointment. No photos, Doll listing not present and I dare to say, pricing that is rather subjective instead of objective. If you want to get a better idea of the Hummel Collection, we all will have to wait for something better. The book is cumbersome like an XCEL spread sheet and does nothing to clear up varieties questions.
