Product Description

Our "Super-Ceramic" baking stone is 15 inches in diameter. That means it has more baking surface than many stones on the market and will accommodate a bigger, better pizza for the same price as the "Original Equipment / 14" stone sold by most grill manufacturers! And ours is USA MADE ! No Mexico, No China, No India ... gen-u-ine American Made Quality. This high temp ceramic is so tough, it will withstand up to 2000 degrees F. So, no worries about it cracking from high heat. And yes, it "bakes" wonderfully! ....turns your grill into a brick oven! With stone you'll find out how fabulous you can bake on your grill or even in your home oven. Perfect for baking pizza, breads, rolls, Stromboli, cookies, calzone etc. Use in conjunction with your platesetter, deflector plate or just put it right on your grill grate and bake away!

The stone works perfectly on the Big Green Egg, however, you do need to have a pizza paddle to prepare your pizza on. The stone is placed on the egg to heat, so you cannot assemble the pizza on the stone. Use corn meal on the paddle (as well as the stone) so that the pizza will slide off the paddle onto the stone.

Warned that you can never have too much heat, on our first try we placed the stone in our 5 yr old Ducane BBQ grill on high for about an hour. That first pizza was burnt and black on bottom in 3 minutes flat!
Preheating for 15 minutes at the middle range is enuf. We now get perfect handmade pizzas in about 7-8 minutes. The bottom is golden to brown - the cheese on top is caramelized and golden.
This is the ticket.... love it!

I've used this numerous times and have heated it to 500 degrees with no problems. It's best to use a heat deflector when you cook at high temps. As previous reviews note, the pizza will burn on the bottom before it is done. With a heat deflector, you have wood-fired flavor on your grill!

Works great, the only reason it didn't get five stars is because I would have liked for it to be a little bigger. A large papa Murphy's pizza fits perfectly on it though. Also used it to make pretzels. It's fantastic!!
