it's a great package, you do need more cards and balls to play the game.
However my son loves them. He throws them and drops them ofter and they are still in one piece! He is very happy and that's all I wanted!

My 8 year old still plays with this set after a year. The best part is that the mat, which is circular and quite large, can be folded up and contained in its own zippered case. Add the Bakugan and the cards, and now I no longer find them stranded all over the floor. Great for toting to a friend's house too.
