First of all, since this is the review of the product, let me say that it is a really great tasting energy bar. It kinda tastes like Snickers, except not as sweet.

Now the reasons you may not want to order here: Earlier reviews that I cannot locate anymore mentioned getting bars that were past the expiration date. I've been ordering them from Amazon for a year now and never had this problem.

Another problem is that Amazon does not protect the shipments from the weather in any way. If you order your bars when it's hot outside they will melt on the way and arrive looking shapeless and unappetizing. So, do not order them from Amazon in the summer.

Before you order Balance Bars from Amazon, just be warned that you will get product that is past its "best by" date. I received a box last week that had expired in November. They replaced this with a box that had expired in....November. If you live near a Sam's Club or a Walmart get them there....they are just as cheap and much fresher.

The bars were very good and inexpensive but it seems they might be a little old because the Chocolate is falling off them when you open the package.

Sadly I ran into a situation I wouldn't expect from the likes of Amazon - receiving protein bars with expired best before dates. Suggestion? Don't forget to check the best before date!

These taste so good , you are almost thinking this is a candy bar instead of a protein bar. I prefer the balance bar gold to their other types.

Three different flavors - two boxes at least nine months past the expiration; one a few months. Returned for replacement. Received replacements with the same expiration dates. This is the first problem I have ever had with an order placed with Amazon. I'd be wary of buying food items from Amazon again.

Don't order these from Amazon. I thought I would save a buck or two by ordering from the, but when they arrived, they had obviously been melted, and then reformed at some point. I ordered two cases of the Triple Chocolate Chaos, and the "gooey chocolate" layer had melted, and the box had been turn on it's side, as this layer re-formed at one of the chocolate bar. It was a mess to eat, and 75% of the bar was dry and missing most of the chocolate.

I ordered them when I was starting an excercise routine. I love them.Eat one in the am(6) and work out a bit(w/big glass of water) and you will not be hungry until noon. It's perfect. The caramel nut one is also awesome!!! I subscribe now and they always come fresh :)

When you have the afternoon munchies or just a craving for something sweet, in my opinion this bar is just the thing, especially if you're looking to eat something that has a good protein component. It satisfies hunger and keeps it satisfied for some time, and it is (almost) as good for me as a candy bar from a craving standpoint. Many times I'll just throw one of these guys in my briefcase for my lunch, and that works fine. Yeah, it's NOT a Snickers bar, but it's WAY beyond what I'd expect to have to eat as a penalty for watching weight. From my point of view I wouldn't even call it a mild compromise... it tastes GOOD.

I was nervous about ordering energy bars via Amazon because of the reviews I'd read concerning stale bars. However, each of my three orders over the past several weeks resulted in the receipt of perfect, fresh bars. I really like Balance Bars for nutrition and appetite curbing, and this flavor is delicious.
