If you like the almond variety sweet and salty bars that are out there, then you will like these. The other brands like planters are way too sweet for me and cause my blood sugar to spike. These are not to sweet or salty and are low glycemic so they don't make me sleepy. Great for a quick snack or breakfast.

I love all the bars in this 'sweet and salty' category, and this particular one is my all-time favorite! Hard to stop with just one, though!

Like I said in my title, I used to think they 9BALANCE) REALLY had the market wrapped up in the flavor department, on those Gold Caramel bars that kind of tasted like a snickers bar, then I read the reviews for these & decided to give them a try as I was kind of getting tired of the same bars ( I bought 10 cases of the gold caramel ones, as I have 7 kids & IF I hoped to have a few when I wanted them I had to buy "extra" to share, when they did the puppy dog eyes at me as I nibbled my bar with my A.M. tea, I would give them a snack, cookie, trail mix etc... but they always wanted a piece of my treat! Therefore the 10 case purchase!

Any who....., I digress, These are now my entire families tie for Favorite protein, low glycemic bar! The other one is the Trail Mix chocolate chip bare bars. We open up a few & cut them into pieces & I give each child, some fresh walnuts, almonds, & pecans or cashews with their pieces of the bars, they are to die for!! It's like a custom candy bar kit every morning, sometimes they like to spread them with extra peanut butter & sprinkle on the nuts all chopped up or slices of banana & toasted coconut. They call this 'snack" first thing in the a.M. their First breakfast when we all sit down to do our family devotions, then it's off to get their chores done & their Second breakfast which is usually light as they are so satisfied with their slow burning "fuel" they had at their First breakfast! they have plenty of energy to usually go 3-4 hours if need be from their Balance Bare Bars breakfast! We have tried all the rest, the yogurt ones & peanut ones & fruit ones (I forget what they're called), but they are a bit too sweet for our tastes, but then again we don't like kool aid & sugar cereals, & REALLY REALLY sweet things, IF you do, then you would enjoy these other flavors as well! For our Family these chocolate almond bare bars & the chocolate chip trail bars are number 1, (excuse the pun) , "bar none"! I(I couldn't resist!) LOL :-)

I used to hunt down Balance Bare bars. I would cry with joy when I found them. I would order them by the caseload via online sites. I was a loyal customer and I would never think of straying.

Alas, Balance changed. They went and altered the recipe/packaging, and now we have grown apart. Balance Bare bars went from being packed with nuts, crunchy and really tasty to mealy, unsatisfying and nary a nut in site.

I wrote Balance to complain, and they responded that they changed the formula to make the bars healthier. Well screw that! Now they taste like crap and I don't know where I'm going to find replacements for my breakfast and mid-morning snack.

We had some good years, Balance Bare. I will think of you often and try and remember the good times.

Another soy bar - tasted slightly bitter, not salty or sweet. OK if you can handle soy, but no bargain at $1.46 per bar!

I had a subscription to these Balance Bare bars because I was a huge fan for a few years. Unfortunately, they've changed the formulation so it now tastes really gross. I hate that I have an entire box of these that I'm going to have to toss. They taste EXTREMELY DISGUSTING now. :(

This is the best nutrition bar! For some reason, you can't find it anymore in the grocery stores so I ended up finding it on Amazon. Well, I found out that buying the Box of 15 Bars ended up saving me almost $15 (that's $1 per bar). I love how the salty almonds compliment the sweet chocolate. This is good for those post lunch munchies! I usually eat 1/2 a bar at 2 different times during the day just to save calories!

This is a great tasting protein bar. It tastes like a granola bar with a tasty chocolate coating on one side.

I've had some nutrition/protein bars in the past; either they were just not tasty at all, or they would be tasty.....with the caveat of having a lot of artificial ingredients and sugar.

I read that this type of Balance Bar is supposed to be more natural (obviously not COMPLETELY natural, but better than a lot of bars out there) and it's not super heavy on sugar. It's like it says: sweet and salty, so you get a nice mix of both tastes.

I got a box of this and KIND bars, for comparison, and these seem far better (read: yummier) than the KIND bars. If I needed to buy more nutrition bars, I would go for this brand.

NOTE: These nutrition bars are more as a snack, or if you REALLY aren't that hungry and just need something in the meantime. If you are ravenous, this is definitely not going to cut it as a "meal replacement." However, I find these good as a breakfast bar kind of deal, especially with some yogurt or fruit on the side. Or, these could be a good companion as a snack during a more vigorous workout session.

This is a tasty high protein product and at a fair price. I would highly recommend this I am in school so it is a great meal stretcher and keeps my mind and energy optimal. It is great for sticking in your golf bag too! Tiny and portable.
