As a pharmacist, I've always been a bit weary of recommending traditional HRT (hormone-replacement therapy) for perimenopausal women. I've forced myself to actually read through the gazillion medical journals and trials, trying to decide if I should get on the "PRO" estrogen-replacement bandwagon or go with the "CON" group. The decision is even tougher to make when your are trying to advise your own mother, of course. My father is a physician and is in favor of prescribing HRT but only once menopausal symptoms become more serious (so beyond the hot flashes and such...) But meanwhile, Mom's been burnin' up at night with her hot flashes. What to do? Hence my quest to find the cure! I began to seriously investigate "natural" sources of estrogen/progestins. So, Mom and I have been through black cohosh, yam extract, bilberry, soy supplementation and many others (with bad to half-OK results) until finally I got my hands on some progesterone replacement articles. Fascinating! I wanted to do it right, so I had some progesterone cream especially compounded through a specialty pharmacy and had WONDERFUL results...Mom was THRILLED and Dad was so convinced that he started writing it for his patients. The only problem was the WONDERFUL price. I was paying about $60 for 3 oz of cream. Surfing on Amazon, I admit that I decided to try this product on a whim, and was mostly attracted to the dosing pump dispenser. (The expensive cream required a dosing spoon for applying the correct dose) Anyway, my mother has used the cream for 3 months now and is VERY pleased as she has not noticed any difference... I'm sticking with this. I HIGHLY recommend it!!

Before buying this product, I tried another with disappointing results because it's strength was low. I found that this product has just the right strength so I don't need a "handfull", it is not sticky, and works as it should. And most importantly... does not have some of the undesirable/dangerous chemicals used in many other top brands.
