A young African-American woman accepts the position of media spokesperson for an international chemicalcompany, and prepares to prove herself in a bold career move. When a chemical plant explodes, and a huge fire spreads toward the woman's old hometown in Texas,sending toxic fumes throughout the community, she is sent to investigate. As a former Flatwoods resident, Elise is torn between supporting a husband intent on leaving his secure job to start a risky business, helping endangered friends, and representing the company. With the support of the company president, she and a former friend uncover the secrets buried in the ashes and in the past. This combination environmental/industrial thriller and character study is overly melodramatic. Love Story and Intrigue all wrapped up in one!!!,

I just finished Balancing Act and I really enjoyed it. It was a good love story, but it also had intrigue and suspense wrapped up in it as well. I will definitely read Ms. Bunckley's other works.

It started off boring and ended ok. I would not recommend this book to anyone who likes to read, it will bore you to death.
