5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic socks, April 29, 2008

i love these socks. they really breathe, and are also super soft. the only ankle socks i will buy now.

my shoe size is 8.5 (women's) and i admit that it is not completely ideal. the small socks are a tiny bit small, and the medium socks are a tiny bit big. so i would say if you are size 8 or below, go with the S, and if you are size 9 or above, go with the M.

enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal socks for hard-to-fit runner, December 12, 2011
This review is from: Balega Lady Ventilator Women's Sock - White/Pink (Apparel)
Love Balega socks - I really like the ventilator style, although the most comfortable for jogging are the Balega soft treads. After several months that included both hot and cold weather, they've held up well and are now my 'go-to' socks. The ventilators are great for those looking for a sock that is relatively thin, breathes well, is moisture wicking and somewhat fitted. I say relatively because these are described as "liner" socks, but are not ultra thin. Balega socks are sized a bit differently than most running socks. Being a size 10 wide, I have great difficulty, even with very expensive socks. If I go to a 'large' the socks never fit or feel right. If I size down, the socks barely fit to start, low-cut or no-show socks never stay put, and with any shrinkage they are too small. Balega offers S-M-L with medium fitting my size 10's perfectly. Of course in the Balega line, those who wear size 8.5 shoes are going to be caught between sizes - honestly paying this much for socks, I kept looking till I found a great fit as well as great socks. I also really liked the Bridgedale socks - they also were sized better for my feet, but they added a bit more bulk in the toebox, resulting in discomfort after extended wear, so I'm sticking with Balega. I'm fairly new to this brand, I'll try to update on how they've held up, once I've worn them for a full year.
