What can I say? If you love bamboo, and if you love having nice place mats on your table, you might give these a try. They are actually a shade or two darker red than in the picture. I have enclosed my pictures on the product page, you can take a look! I definitely recommend these, also in black! (I bought both). The nice thing about them is that you can roll them up and store them easily that way, too!

I thought these black placemats were a fantastic bargain, but then I had a mishap with some water and the dye ran like crazy. I understand that drenching something dyed might cause some trouble, but a permanent black stain on wood from a placemat kind of defeats the purpose, no? They look nice, but here's hoping you don't get anything moist on them.

Ordered the chocolate color, but the coloring is not consistent, there are substantial white streaks that detract from the appearance of the placemat, as though the dye was imcompletely applied to the material. I will not be ordering from this supplier again.

This is a sturdy product that can be easily wiped clean, or in my case cat hair blown off of.

I bought these in black and received them yesterday (took 10 days for processing & shipping). They look nice and you can't beat getting 4 place mats for less than ten bucks! I'm not what you'd call "green" but for those that are, these are a wonderful product.

These mats look very nice on the table, however, they're kind of hard to clean. And if you use a damn rag, the color comes off on the rag.

I dd not expect more than an inexpensive placemat, so these are great for me.

The backing does show through the spaces between bamboo strips - as another reviewer said. There are some imperfections in teh bamboo strips as well.

The borders seem to be well sewn.

I ordered the chocolate color... The mats are very natural and simple looking - and I am very happy with them. I would not use them for company - just family. The chocolate color is really more of a brown, tree-bark kind of color. Had these for a month or so - like them so far.

These bamboo placemats seemed the perfect solution for my dinner table, but when they arrived I noticed the gaps in the bamboo where the backing showed through. Also, the color was more of a rust than a red. They went right back into the box and were returned. I do NOT recommend them!

The label was difficult to peel off and when it did, it ripped the threading to shreds. I tried on the second matt and had the same problem, so I didn't peel it all the way. These are now back in the box awaiting a return trip to Amazon.

They looked like exactly what I wanted, though.

These placemats are so stylish and easy to store, I bought a second set! They are easy to clean (just wipe with generic cleanser). Also, they are incredibly easy to store--just roll them back up put them away. I will look forward to Benson Mills products in the future because I also bought their coasters. Enjoy!
