5.0 out of 5 stars Floating through Bali with enlightened mind, March 27, 2000

This is a wonder mood CD. Do not expect to dance with this one unless you believe in floating above the floor, gently pushing the air aside. I have heard other music by Midori and enjoyed it a lot. This is no exception. I'm always greatful to discover a CD that is gentle while being musically interesting and intellectual. This is such a CD. Also try her other releases as well as those by Jalan Jalan, "Bali" and David Parsons, "Ngaio Himalaya".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for listening or background, December 9, 2005

This is one of those superbly recorded CDs I like to recommend purely on the basis of its sound quality, although the music itself is nothing to sneeze at. Of course, you have to like listening to so-called new age music as well, but for many people this will be simply relaxing, peaceful music.

Much better than average for this type of music, and the actual sound quality is first rate -- it will not embarass expensive stereo gear, and sounds good out of anything from a cheap boombox to $5000 CD players. I am a headphone fan and have several pair of over-$150 headphones... great listening. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars More about Midori, September 25, 2000

I too love this CD and was amused at the comments from Lyn. You see, Midori is not a she, in fact, Midori is Medwyn Goodall and he has at least a half dozen releases under the name Midori.

Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing, Seamless Sounds, October 28, 2007
This review is from: Bali (Audio CD)
I first heard this playing in the background of my favorite Balinese-style hot springs resort and am so glad I found it here! "Bali" is a delightful, inspiring and always comforting journey through a peaceful world of water and sunlight. Midori incorporates the use of water sounds, windchimes, Asian percussion and wind instruments to compliment the easy, unobtrusive keyboards, creating a seamless, relaxing mood throughout. Each song slips into the next with ease, never breaking the mood, making this album ideal for yoga or massage (it works great with my Hatha yoga routines). Some parts of the CD make me feel as if I'm sipping jasmine tea in China. Other parts have slightly Celtic overtones to it. I can't exactly pin down musically what makes this particular collection "Balinese" compared to other meditation albums but it's still a very lovely and soothing piece of work.
