I purchased three "Paint the Wild: Puppies" kits for my daughters, ages 5, 8, and 10. They very much enjoyed the process of painting the puppies to match their favorite breeds, as well as some newly created breeds straight from their imagination.

The puppies are a lightweight wood (likely balsa or soft pine) and are durable enough to play with after the paint has dried. There's plenty of paint included to complete your masterpieces.

Satisfaction with this product has inspired my decision to purchase other "Paint the Wild" kits. The horses were also a big hit with my children.

This is a good choice to fill a rainy afternoon. Also is an excellent gift item.

With 2 boys and 2 girls in our home between 6 and 12 in age, I have bought more craft kits than most people I know, I have also taught art classes before in the past. This puppies kit turned out to be one of my all time favorites, the kids love them! I used to buy activity kits because the packaging looks big or it feels substantial (heavy) but i found that many are just stuffed with cheap materials. My kids may do the projects but they soon forget about them.

The puppies in this kit are real looking wood sculptures, they are almost too good to paint on but I know from experience that you can paint over and over again with acrylic and the kit provides lots of paints (it comes with shiny glaze too after you are done painting). My youngest daughter plays with the puppies with her brother for days and later we make them into hanging ornaments for the windows. They each signed their names at the bottom so we can remember the memories.

I think it is a very good kit for the money and make a classy but fun gift. I do wish they make a deluxe version or many other versions, they are not the easiest kits to find in stores but i think that makes them more special.

I love this kit--the puppies are so cute and the project is really fun. I loved the finished craft and it gave my children the freedom to creat whatever they wanted. Would like to buy more of these to make a whole kennel and to give as birthday and holiday gifts. All we needed was in the box and the directions were so easy to follow.

The kit was great I thought it was soo much fun to paint the puppies different colors! This toy is really cool because you can hang your puppies,put magginets on them or just play with them! This toy is pretty durable but if you slammed it really hard on a hard floor it would probally break.If you like craft kits you should deffinatly get this one.

We got this puppy kit for my daughter's birthday party. She spent more time on it than any other toys she got (maybe 20 gifts). It is a good, classic toy and I was suprised how well she can paint (she's 7). The only thing I would like to have more is a couple additional paintbrushes so her brother can do it at the same time with the other 2 puppies.

Was disappointed that the puppies were basically chunks of wood faintly resembling dogs...thought they might have more detail or finishing. Would probably pass had I known....

My children enjoyed painting the 3 puppies. They were excited that there was many different colors on the paint palette. The paint dried really quick; so they were able to but details on the puppies. I liked the fact it was easy clean up, little supervision and kept them busy for a while. After they completed the painting of the puppies they chose to play with them. The kit came with many creative options(ie. magnets, ornamentsand window decorations). The kit included all these items. It even included varnish for a shiny finish. Which will look nice hanging on my Christmas tree.
