About the Author

Visniec is one of the most performed playwrights in his native Romania but he now lives and works in France where his plays are critically acclaimed. Spiro is one of the most highly regarded Hungarian playwrights whose work has been performed internationally. Romcevic was one of the dissident writers whose work was banned by the Milosevic regime.'Cordon' was made into a film which won the Montreal Film Festival. Andreaa Valean is a new voice for the generation growing up in a liberalised Romania and questioning the brutality of the past.
