Bought these for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loves them.

I called Ball customer service, and these are in fact Ball brand drinking mugs made with the same glass as the jars, only with a handle.
Ronin
Maybe it's because I have a country kitchen or that I have been watching the tv show with the moonshiners but these glasses are great.

I am only giving this one star because the packing was very well done and the shipping was rather quick. However, I am sorely disappointed that these are not the item that they are listed to be. If you are looking for a Ball Jar BRAND jar mug... then you are at the wrong place. These are NOT Ball jars as they are listed, which is false advertising in my book. They are a cheap knock-off of a much more reliable brand. They are not well made at all, otherwise they could stand to be heated up at higher temperatures, like normal canning jars.
However, if you want a more cost efficient way to satisfy your kitchen or party trends, feel free to order from these people. They are a fair price for the look you may want.

One of the great things of these sort of glasses should be they are real canning jars with handles to drink from. Apparently they are not. The telling fact? They state "not for hot liquids". You boil canning jars, so they should handle hot liquids fine, but these do not. Really sad. Great for iced tea, tho.

The drinking jars are just what I wanted. The shipment seemed rather slow yet the product is excellent. I also order the lids that were recommended and they did not fit the jars. When I called the seller, they were extremly helpful, apologetic and quickly sent the correct lids. As it was, Amazon had the wrong lids listed for the product.

NOTE: After reading the reviews, I like many others thought that these might be imitation Ball mugs -- they are not! I called Ball customer service, and these are in fact Ball brand drinking mugs made with the same glass as the jars, only with a handle. They told me that even though they are made with the same glass, they are not designed for canning or hot liquids for two reasons: The handle is not a good insulator for hot liquids and could easily burn you, and also the handle increases the likelihood of the jar breaking during canning. However, they are in fact Ball brand, not some cheap knockoff like the reviewer "JustHealth" claims. It is unfortunate that he/she would make such a claim as if they were 100% sure they were fake, without even calling the company to check. Since they are currently the top reviewer for this product, they should be ashamed to have potentially driven away many customers with their unfounded accusations.

Since these are GENUINE Ball brand mugs, the handles are much thicker than the cheap knockoffs. Mine arrived very well packed & none of the glasses were damaged --- but I am not sure if they all come from the same supplier (mine were shipped from "Goodman's"). They do seem a bit smaller than normal glasses, as they are pint-sized mugs, but they could probably hold a 12oz can of soda with a couple of ice cubes.

I have been looking for these for a long time to make smoothies with. In case you didn't know, the bottom part of most blenders will attach to a regular size mason jar opening -- so, with these mugs I can blend a morning smoothie without making the whole blender dirty (like the magic bullet).

We ordered 108 of these glasses to give to guests as favors at our wedding. 1 glass came completely shattered, the other had a significant chip in the handle - other than that, these glasses were perfect. We wrote our names and wedding date on them with glass paint pens (oil based) with no problem.

I was quite disappointed in these jars. I didn't read anything carefully when buying these. Amazon has 12 Libbey Country Fair 16-Ounce Drinking Jars for half the price, but I bought these because they were "Ball" branded. My other Ball drinking mugs say Ball right on the jar, so I didn't realize that plain means plain glass, so they dont look very good. Also there was a note in the box that says,"Not suitable for hot beverages." I use my mugs in the microwave to make hot chocolate, but since these say they are not safe, I am afraid that they might explode. I wish I had read the reviews before jumping to buy these based on the brand name. One reviewer claims that these are knock-offs, and he might very well be right.

These jar mugs were perfect. And they held hot beverages just fine. Was worried about that b/c I'd read so many reviews saying otherwise. I served hot cider in them with success.

I was extremely disappointed in this company. I needed these for my sisters bridal shower and I ordered 6 cases. This product was listed as in stock and then I got an e-mail saying it was on backorder. I then spoke to the manager, David, who seemed nice and helpful at first. He said they were getting them in and would upgrade my shipment. By the following Monday they still weren't shipped and David, who I later found out was the owner, kept avoiding my calls and would only speak through one of his workers. In the end I canceled my order because they never even called me back to let me know what they were going to do.
