I taught myself to can with this book 12 years ago. Since then, I have been trained by the USDA as a Master Food Preserver and spent several years in that program, seeing all sorts of canning/food preservation books. This is still my favorite. You will *not* be disappointed!

Being an "old time" canner, I found many of the recipes my grandmother passed on, just aren't as safe now as they were then... processes have changed, we are more aware of the variety of resources available to preserve food, and we enjoy more now the freshness of food then we did as kids... then it was a chore to do this as kids, now as adults, we appreciate the benefits of doing our own preserving. I've looked for a long time for one "definitive" resource that would satisfy ALL my needs in one place - this book is it!

If you need any help canning, dehydrating or freezing this is the book for you. I started caning three years ago and this book is a big help. Jams and Jellies, Pickles and anything you want to can is in this book. With a big family any help you can get is great and this book is great also. I recommend it to anyone who is into canning.

I live in phoenix az. and cannot find a pressure canner. The pressure cooker I can find but no canner. Can anyone help?
