Like most kids today, our two have more toys than they know what to do with, and they hardly ever play with most of them. The Fun Hop is one of the few exceptions--my children play with it daily (my daughter is 5 and my son is 3). They hop all over the house, and even use it to clean up (hey, it's more fun to "hop" stuff back to your room than to just carry it there!). Our only problem is that we only have one hopper, and they usually both want to hop on it. They are pretty good about sharing, but we will be buying a second one soon. The hopper is made of thick rubber and is very durable. In almost 2 years we've never had to add more air to it, so it is maintenance-free. There are no parts to lose, either, and the kids get a LOT of exercise playing with it. What a perfect toy! Get one for every kid in your house.

I bought one of these for my 10 year old son 6 years ago when he was 4. He still plays with it on a weekly basis. And in fact it is one of the few things that will get him out from behind his computer-so 5 stars for Physical Education. I have never had to re-inflate it or had any type of problems with it.

There are so few toys anymore that can hold a child's interest past the first few weeks, but this is definitely one. And it takes a LONG time to outgrow it. My two year old daughter is now starting on it, so I will be buying a second one soon.

I bought one of the Hedstrom Hoppers 2 Christmas's ago. The one we bought my daughter was the Tigger one that makes "bouncy" noises as they hop. At first I thought the kids just loved it because of the sounds, but I haven't replaced the batteries in about a year and it's the most used toy in the house. Children who visit go directly for it, my 6 year old loves it and my 8 year old still gets it out at least a few times a week. The children have never used this ball outside so I'm not sure how it does on rough terrain but inside it has lasted all this time never losing air. I agree with the recommendation of 5 years to start since this ball is big but I can't wait to see how long my children keep up with it. My 12 year old son still sneaks in a few bounces anytime he thinks he's not watched, but he's well past the 100 lb weight limit. I highly recommend this toy for someone who wants to give a child a gift that won't be left untouched within a few weeks. Elmos come and go but I still remember the fun I had on my big red bouncy ball from my youth.
PS- This is an excellent alternative to a pogo stick for a younger child.

My now 4 year old boy got this for Christmas when he was 3 years old. He loves it and uses it every single day. Of the hundreds of dollars we spent on Christmas and his birthday this is the only toy that gets daily use. He bounces around to go from room to room or when told to go get something he has to "go get his bouncey first". I hope I can find a bigger one next year as he is an extra tall child and will outgrow it soon. BUY IT !

My five year old daughter (38 pounds) played with her new ball hopper for less than fifteen minutes when she hit a pinecone and the ball hopper sprung a leak and became useless. The box states that this item is for outdoors, tough, and durable. My experience is that it is not and should be kept indoors.

We bought two of these because the first one was such a good toy. It is played with daily. The kids hop everywhere - down the hall, in the kitchen, around the yard...

I look for toys that are fun, educational, and fairly quiet. I want toys that are easy to play with and have more than a button you push to make something happen. I want toys that encourage exploration of the world.

This toy meets those requirements. I would say it is very educational in that it encourages large motor skills, balancing, eye and hand coordination etc. It is also educational in that it encourages imagination- hey, I'm a Kangaroo mommy! This is very fun and they only noise it makes really is the noise the kids make while playing on the hopper.

It is well worth every penny.

We got this toy for our son when he was 2 yrs of age, now, at age 10, we're buying a 3rd one. As he's grown, he's adapted the hopper to his "playing wants". Now, the hopper hangs from a rope attached to a large tree and is very roughly played with. These things are so durable, we trust the ball more than the branch it hangs from! Now, all the boys in the neighborhood want to play in our yard!

I bought this because my 3 year old got one as a gift. It is for my 5 year old. I wish there were indications as to which size to buy according to their height. He is a bit bigger than average so it's a bit small for him although he does love it.
It helps expend some energy.

I purchased two for use at our center and the children love it. They're safe and the children really get a good workout as well as improve their coordination. I had no problem inflating them initially with a small sports pump and have not had to refill them in over a month, though that would not have been an issue. They are durable as well as the children play with them inside the screened porch as well as outside on the cement pad and also on the ground. Now I have to purchase alot more for all the other children at the center.

I bought two fun hops as gifts for a pair of 3 year-old twin girls and have received rave reviews of the toys from their parents. The girls play with them all the time and are having a blast with them. In fact, unlike some toys, these do not seem to have lost their attraction for the girls and are great exercise (or at least, a great outlet for burning off pent-up energy). The toys were easy to inflate with a regular pump and appear to be very durable and well-made; after a month of constant use they appear to be no worse for wear.
