5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Underwater Retreat
I bought this Sub for my daughter for her First birthday. She's now 2 and still loves playing and exploring. Not a day goes by without climbing in one side and out the other and back again. I've taught her how to recoginze the letters and she'll spell Submarine out, then we go thru our colours and the 'anatomy' of a fish.
One way I've kept her interested and saved...

I have to start by saying this is a very cute toy, just not worth the time, or money. I bought this for my daughter's first b-day. I read many, many reviews on this and decided to take my chances. She hates it. She refuses to go in it. My daughter is very very playful.I have never seen her have a problem playing. She just isnt amused by this toy. She gets the balls out...

One way I've kept her interested and saved money is, I put all of her baby blankets over the top, turning it into a tent and she hides in there while I get ready for the day. If she wants a blanket she just takes one off the top instead of getting into a dresser drawer or having them scattered everywhere. I've also tossed all of her stuffed animals inside making it soft and cozy, and an out of the way place to put all of her buddys. (Saving from buying another toy chest) She's also learned that I can sit inside with her to read books or explore the ocean.
I plan on using this as a small wading pool when she's old enough, yet again saving money and keeping her interested.
Wonderful toy for mom and babe. Inexpensive, durable, educational, and great fun!!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves This Sub!, May 14, 2005

My son got this sub for his first birthday and has loved it from day one! He has so much fun in there and plays in it everyday. The only problem is the balls were all deflated when we got it but after a phone call to the company they sent over replacement balls. Also you do have to add in more air once in awhile to keep it upright especially if you didn't order the air pump. We blew it up by ourselves. We recommend ordering the air pump for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Toy, January 4, 2004

I got his for my almost 4 year old son and he loves it! He bounces around in it and he's pretty rough, but this ball pit is very durable. A good choice for a kid who likes to bounce around, and it's safe & better than them jumping in places they shouldn't be! 100 balls are okay, but I'd suggest 200 to make it more full.

We purchased it for Christmas 03 and she fell in love. All the kids who come and visit have to go inside, even the big ones.

Problem is that it developed a hole and we have no clue where it is. So we just keep adding air every few days.

Otherwise we adore this

I have to start by saying this is a very cute toy, just not worth the time, or money. I bought this for my daughter's first b-day. I read many, many reviews on this and decided to take my chances. She hates it. She refuses to go in it. My daughter is very very playful.I have never seen her have a problem playing. She just isnt amused by this toy. She gets the balls out and leaves the pit area. I just dont think that it's quite big enough to catch her attention. Once she gets in I think she feels too confined. I only kept it for 2 days and decided to send it back. I read in reviews that most people had issues with it holding air, I did not notice a problem. The one thing I noticed was the manufacturer's suggested age is 3-5 years. I doubt that highly. My [...] daughter fit perfectly by herself. Her [...] cousin got in with her and they couldnt crawl around and play and have fun. They had to sit there and just toss the balls around. I think it you have small children under the age of 2, that are not afraid of small spaces, this is an adorable product and could be very fun. It fits perfectly in our living room and we have a very small living space. Also, the balls that came with it were all dented. I ordered the extra 100 balls and they are smaller than the ones that come with the Sub pit. I didnt mind the size difference, just the dents. One more thing to keep in mind... for the 5 minutes my daughter played in it, she kept wanting to look out the "windows" on the sides. Everytime she would put her hands on the sides of the openings to peek out, the entire sub would tip over. I guess you just need to have a lot of weight throughout the sub to keep it evenly distributed. If you plan on buying this to amuse your small child so you can get some work done, I would advise against it. You'll only spend your time standing beside it to catch it before it tips over. Good luck....

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Fun but messy, March 22, 2006

My kids love this ball pit i have a 19 month old who i got it for originally and a 3 yr old, it is very durable, they jump in it they've turned it upside down and walked on it so I give it 5 starts on that. They always throw all the balls out of the pit so some advise is only get the 100 that come with it dont get an extra 100 you will regret it! I make my kids pick up the balls when they are done so they start to learn to clean up their messes. Have fun with it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for toddlers, June 17, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Ball Toyz Kidz Sub (Toy)
I bought this ball pit for my son's 2nd birthday party. I did a lot of shopping around and found that this brand tends to have positive reviews and fewer leak problems than others. I liked the fact that the sides are clear, so you can see what is happening inside, and there is only one large opening, so the balls stay contained. You may push the large opening up against a wall for even more containment and kids can climb in through the portholes. The propeller is very amusing for young toddlers, and adds a nice touch, although I'm sure they have no idea what a submarine is. This ball pit comes with 100 balls, but I recommend buying another box of balls to really make it seem full. The bottom of the pit is not padded and has holes, so it cannot be filled with water. The holes make it easy to shake dust and debris from the unit, which you must do periodically.

My 3 year old daughter got this as a Christmas present from her aunt and loves it! I was suprised that my son loves it now too. Even before he could walk (he is now 11 months old and started sitting in the sub with his sister at about 9 months) he liked throwing the balls around and trying to climb in. I only gave three stars for durability because one side has deflated already - but not much stands up to my rambuctious 3 year old. The only drawback for me is picking up all of the balls around the basement, but my daughter is learning how to help clean up now too!

I bought this for my sons first birthday and he LOVES it. When we have people over with kids his age they love it too. I was very happy when I opened it and saw how thick the plastic was. although I think it could handle another 100 balls. Its colorful, has lots of ways to get in and out and I think any kid would love to have this. on the box I believe it says ages 3-6 but I think 3 or 4 should be the age limit, only because its not THAT durable, older kids are much more rowdy. BUY IT you'll Love it too!!

We bought this for our 11 month old son for christmas and he loves this. It is not available in the store but I think it is worth the shipping, also buy a pump to blow up, otherwise plan on a day to blow up. This comes with 100 fun balls which is good but it could use 100 more to be even more fun. I would recommend this ball pit to anyone.
