I too have the records and wish that someone would issue this album on CD. It is fabulous. Please, some company out there remaster and issue this album on CD. From the reviews I have read there are many of us who will buy this album if it is put on CD. I would be willing to pay as much as $25.00, if not more for this album on CD.

This is without a doubt the best Joan Baez record/disc. I have the LP but it is 30yrs old and worn out.

This has always been one of my favorite Joan Baez albums, and I still play the vinyl version now and then. Would love to have it available on CD.

If you love to listen to Joan Baez singing Child ballads and other old folk songs, this is the definitive album to own. This album is in desperate need of being reissued in CD format. For the meantime, get a vinyl copy. Ebay has several (price range $19--$40). Joan doesn't get any better than this; nobody does.

I first bought the Ballad Book when I was about thirteen and I listened to it for years. Then I moved to Iran in my late teens and lost it in the process. I have been looking for it in CD form. I have had no good fortune in my search. Please someone put the Ballad Book on CD. This seems to be the only Joan Baez album that has not been digitaly remastered and as far as I am concerned it is the best. Thank you! Karen.

This is her best, and includes some sweet and simple old standards sung with clarity and style. I have a cassette which is also in poor condition, and wish I could replace it!

You can compile the album yourself -- all of these songs can be purchased from Amazon in mp3 format and burned to a CD. My mom loves this album and only had it on LP, so I'm buying her all the songs for Mother's Day. Here are the download links:

My mom had this album when my sister and I were growing up. We listened to it all the time and I loved it. I have searched all over to find it on cd and have discovered that there is no such cd. I don't have a turntable and so I would definitely buy the cd if it existed. PLEASE!!!! Put it on CD!!!

Many years ago when I was teaching high school English, I brought this album into the classroom for a teaching lesson on ballads. I fell in love with the album, and have been looking for it on CD. The stories are beautiful and heartbreaking...Matty Groves, Mary Hamilton, Silkie to mention a few. PLEASE will someone put this wonderful, beautiful song story album onto a CD so that we can enjoy Joan's beautiful and lilting voice singing these classic English ballads.
