I wouldn't have ever known about Con Funk Shun if it hadn't been for my friend from high school. This is an album for anyone who likes the "Smooth Grooves" collection or for anyone that has "The Slow Jams Of The 70s" collection or "The ...Timeless Collection" . This album is filled with classic slow jams. Whether it's the 70s: "Make It Last", "Let Me Put Love On Your Mind" or "Straight From The Heart" or the 80s: The Michael Cooper classics, "Love's Train" and "I'm Leaving Baby". Even if you're not a fan of the 70s funk era, this collection of ballads is definitely worth the $12 or $13.

Con Funk Shun, unfortunately a somewhat forgotten group especially by the new generation and radio stations, not only put together some great funk music, but some classic slow ballads and this CD covers almost all of them. It is a shame that "By Your Side" from "Spirit of Love" was not included, but otherwise it does not get any better than this. Extreme stand-outs include "Let Me Put Love on Your Mind", "Honey Wild" and "All Up To You". For those of you into the classic smooth R&B of the 70's,80's, this is a MUST!

These slow jams are made for lovers. The messages in these songs are one's any romantic can relate to. And as always the production, arrangment and vocal style's are top notch. This collection is a cold piece of work. So get your mackin started off the right way. Old school players know what I'm talking about. New school players need to get hip to this game.

This cd brings back the days when music presented romantic innuendoes and actual feelings from the heart. Tunes such as "All Up To You", "Honey Wild" and "Make It Last" give that feeling "love" that is missing from today's slow songs. Although this cd is missing "Can't Say Goodbye", it is perfect for those romantic interludes or quiet evenings that only two can share. If you miss the days where artists didn't just sing for profit this is a definite add to your cd collection.

These are some of the finest slow jams at it's best. Con Funk Shun really lays it out for the lovers. I can cruise to these tunes almost all day long. I wish they could've squeezed in one of their finest slow jams entitled "You make me want to love Again" from the 1986 titled album "Burnin' Love". That was a very nice ballad. Other than that, this is a very nice cd to have in one's collection.

When I discovered "Promise You Love" on this cd, that was enough for me to buy it. When I received it, I realized I had a true masterpiece in music history. I pressed the "Repeat" button. The cd, my sweetheart & me played all day.

THESE GREATEST HITS ALBUMS SEEM TO ALWAYS LEAVE OFF TRUE GEMS. TRUE BLUE CON FUNK SHUN FANS WHO GO ALL THE WAY BACK (LIKE ME) WOULD GIVE THIS 5 STARS HAD THEY INCLUDED ANOTHER WORLD OR NEVER BE THE SAME (BOTH FROM THEIR FIRST ALBUM) OTHER THAN THAT NOT BAD AND STILL WORTH THE MONEY BUT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

Con Funk Shun was one of the baddest groups of the sevnties and this CD collection displays the group at their slow jam finest. The winning combo of Skip Scarbrough's writing and Michael Cooper's vocals really stand out on Love's Train, Straight From The Heart (my personal favorite),Baby I'm Hooked Right Into Your Love and Honey Wild. If you hear some real music and amazing slow jam pick this one up.

I saw these guys years ago, and bought this on a whim, though I didn't know all the songs. I play it endlessly. Its very cool..they're aren't songs being written like these anymore. It brought me back. It reminded me of Maze a little, in that you can just put it on and listen to it several times over....it is that kind of smooth. Well worth it!

Con Funk Shun has some of the baddest slow jams.Love's Train is still the cut.these jams are timeless.not only Self-COntained but also great vocalists.
