5.0 out of 5 stars Realism, with a splash of finess!
If you are anything like me, you find yourself lying awake in bed pondering where the Cash Money Millionares get the chops that make them such street hits. Well then my friend, look no further than this video. It chronicals the real life escapades of tha Hot Boyz and tha Big Tymers in their pre-rap persuit of wealth through less than legitamate means. Don't misunderstand...

2.0 out of 5 stars So bad it's entertaining
I'm sure anyone who's going to watch this movie isn't expecting award winning acting and directing. The movie reminded me of something you and your friends would shoot on a home camera messing around the neighborhood. The movie is horribly acted and everything did seem adlibbed to the point where it didn't seem like there was a plot or a script. The movie is just pure...

Don't misunderstand dear reader, I do not condone such behavior, but I am sheltered in my glass house, far from the mean streets. Infact I don't know how I would survive in tha 'Nolia. And it is that fact more than any other that makes 'Baller Blockin' a tape that you would view many many times. Can you honestly say that you would think of hiding in an ice cream freezer when the cops are after you, simply because you are involved in large narcotics and arms smuggling ring? This is true, gritty, street life punctuated by the all to familiar (to someone from the PJ's at least) image of exlpoding cop cars and thumping beats. If you are like me and don't have the occasion to take a field trip to the ghetto, do the next best thing and buy this tape!

The movie is just pure violence and cursing. I must admit I was entertained by the movie. My friends and I laughed our way through the movie just because it was so bad but it still entertained me more than a lot of other movies. The slim plot is that some crooked cop is trying to Baller block on the Cash money records crew's cocaine selling. There's also some subplot about some guys killing Juvenile's character's dad. The movie clocks in about 50 minutes and includes the Baller Blockin video. It is very slim on extra so don't buy if you want to see Cash Money videos. Overall, if you enjoy movies like Master P's films or many of those straight to video films with rappers I see at the video store than go pick this up. If you don't enjoy those type of movies, please avoid this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baller Blocktstic, April 1, 2001

This tape blew my mind. It may not have been very long, but it gave us an introduction to the millionaires and life on their home-turf. Magnolia reminds me a bit of St. Louis, after watching the video. It was cool seeing lil B.G.sy do his thing and Juve' was on fire. If you wanna know more about your ballers get this tape. This tape cannot fail to have an impact on anyone who has grown up in a big city. Man, they should make this into a weekly show (as the Magnolia Turns, ha ha). I can't wait to see part two and the baller blockin soundtrack at the end is on fire. Hell-the whole video is gravy. Cashmoney is an Army!

Basically a low-budget movie but if you love that southern slang and Cash Money, then this is a good one to laugh at.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad movie at all... just too short!, February 16, 2001

I'm a fan of the band, so I simply had to check out the movie on curiosity factor alone, not knowing whether it was going to be a low-budget semi-vanity flick like Master P's "I'm Bout It" (which I liked in spite of itself) or just an extended rap video... As it turns out, this movie, despite the fact that it's only an hour long (not counting the bonus footage of the video for the title track and the interviews), was very well filmed, produced, and written. The acting by the band members was... well, they, like Zappa & the Mothers in "200 Motels", were playing versions of themselves, so in that respect it came off very well. I'd recommend this to anyone interested in either action films in general or the current subgenre of self-released rap-related movies.

This movie was off the hook. Not only was it hilarious, the movie kept it real to the streets. If you know anything about the street life, you'll know that this is how it is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh man...., February 21, 2001

This "movie" was terrible, its like 45 minutes long, has huge plot holes, the acting is just terrible, and most of the movie does not contribute to the plot at all. I was not expecting much but I thought it could not be worse than a master p movie. I was wrong, the ending just says "to be continued". Please no more. I don't understand how anyone could possibly give this movie 5 stars.
