More About the Author

Kirsten Hall was born in New York, NY. She attended high school in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated from Connecticut College in 1996. After college, Hall worked for one year at Random House before returning to school for a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from New York University. She simultaneously taught pre-school, Kindergarten, and 2nd Grade at private schools in Manhattan.

Hall's first book was written (and published!) when she was still a child herself, in the seventh grade. Since that time, she has authored more than 140 published books on a broad range of topics including trucks, farms, fairies, handwriting analysis, Italy, sharks, dream analysis, money, espionage, and the deep sea. In addition to writing, Hall is the Administrator for the American Book Producers Association as well as the U.S. Agent for The Bright Group International, a London-based children's illustration agency that represents more than 130+ (amazing!) artists.

Hall currently resides in New York, NY with her husband and two sons.

This is an excellent first reader book. The book contains 33 easy to recognize words that are repeated. The story is also presented in rhyme. Pictures provide clues to the text and add to the story's depth.

This is a great book for beginner readers. Both of my girls (ages 4 and 5) love it. I would definitely recommend it.

We read and reread this book often. It is a cute story and the illustrations are so well done. Recommend it for little girls, especially ballerinas.

Beautiful book. Illustration of the little girl looks like my little ballerina in training to the T - curly hair and all! My daughter is almost three and beginning ballet, so I purchased this book to read to her the week before ballet class began. She loves it and we've read it every night for over a week. It is a very simple book and is marketed as a "I Can Read" book, so the story is just simple one line sentences. But the illustrations are BEAUTIFUL and feature full page color illustrations! Perfect gift for the beginner ballerina under age 5.

This book is short but my daughter loves it. It has a cute rhyming story. Most ballet storybooks have blond haired girls this is refreshing in that this character does not...I think that is why my daughter loves it too.

This book was a gift for my 3 1/2 year old grandniece. When she called me (with her Mom's help) to thank me, she repeated the entire story. She is totally into ballet, which, by the way, she calls Ball-ah-let.
