5.0 out of 5 stars great book for young dancers and performers, July 26, 2000
This is a wonderful book for any young dancer or performer feeling too much a part of the crowd. Nina is a young ballerina who although might not be the best in the class has her whole heart in it. She's worried that her mother won't be able to recognise her in the show at the end of the year and is disappointed when she does not get the role of the queen butterfly, who wears a crown and is easily distinguished from the other dancers. As the recital draws nearer, Nina is more and more worried about not being seen. But an accident in which she breaks her arm saves the day: she has to dance with a cast, making her clearly visible and distinguishable to her mother. A great book for any young performer. I've remembered it ever since I read it quite a while back when I was just starting ballet. I'd strongly recommend it. :o)

I like this book because I wanted to be a ballerina. It told me what ballerina's do and how they dress, and what types of dancing they can do.
