I have dance experience from the old days, and I am impressed with this series of tapes. I too have all 4 now, and what I particularly like about this series is that it properly demonstrates technique in a way that beginners can understand, and then builds on the dance steps until you are actually dancing. I didn't even realize how much I'd learned. It shows you that you don't have to know every ballet step in the world to dance. Repeating the first 2 tapes is like attending a class each week because it follows the basic structure of a dance class. I wouldn't recommend that beginners try to use "Combinations 1" and "Combinations 2" without getting the 1st two videos down. The other thing I like is that, unlike so many other videos out there, this series isn't selling anything. It is simply teaching ballet technique and choreography. Most of the others I have seen are promoting something, and that can be annoying.

I'm in my 40s, and I wanted to dance. Using this video, I do just that. What I like about it that made me want to write a review is that it has a very relaxing feeling to it. It is beautifully done, and the instruction is easy to understand. I am just a beginner, and I have been able to use this series with very little difficulty. I'm not saying it isn't challenging, because it is. I am grateful for some of the slo-motion on the new steps and the dance pieces, but I am soooo very proud of myself when I complete a dance. I have all 3 videos (Ballet 101, 201 and Combinations) and I am a very happy customer.
