When I began accompanying ballet classes, Suzanne Knosp was extremely helpful to me. She provided me with excellent information and musical selections to get me through the earliest times of learning how to play class. I purchased this book almost as a "thank you" for her help. As it turns out, it is chock full of wonderful selections for barre and center that I use repeatedly. They are teacher favorites as well as my own. The book covers many musical styles and the selections are pretty and develop nicely for being short compositions. Some of the polkas are just....funny! They are so cute they make me (and my dancers) grin. This is music that not only accompanies, but motivates, dancing. Buy it. If you play for ballet, you will use this book.
