Ballet Floor Barre, June 25, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Ballet Floor Barre [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This 45-minute tape is more of a warm-up and stretch tape than a conditioning workout. There are some very advanced stretches shown in this tape, so I would only recommend it for someone with a lot of flexibility. The setting is a little sterile - white walls and carpet - but there is nothing offensive about it. The instructor, Nicole Vass, has a very pleasant manner and an elegant presence. There are four sections to this floor workout - everything is done seated or lying down so no barre is needed. Section 1 warms up the body, section 2 stretches your turnout/hip joints/muscles, and sections 3/4 emphasizes over-all flexibility. This tape is a nice supplement to a ballet class or, as the instructor puts it in her beautiful Australian accent, "for the dancer on holiday."

I love this tape!, June 30, 2001
This review is from: Ballet Floor Barre [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've been crazy about dancing since March of 99 and this has been one of my all-time favorite tapes to do at home, to get my body warmed up and feeling in shape. Nicole Vass warms up your body progressively and gradually--and safely. The tape has a section each devoted to warmup, turn-out, stretching, and cool down. I love her voice, her look, and her personality. No matter how many times I have used this tape, I don't tire of it--unlike most of the arobics tapes. :) So, congrats, Nicole, and thanks!!

Highly recommended if you are looking for a stretching routine or a day off, October 22, 2006
This review is from: Ballet Floor Barre [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video isn't very intense if you're trying to get heartpumping workout, but it is very good for people who are looking to do stretching and/or concentrate on their form.
The background music is annoying and doesn't correlate with the motions.
I completely agree with "A viewer's" review (e.g. setting sterile but not offensive, and tape is a good supplement to a more rigorous routine)
