Great sound, September 14, 1999

I typically don't like Karajan's conducting, but this disc is fabulous. It has great sound, especially in the strings and horns. Tchaikovsky would have been proud. Decca's recordings from this period were just outstanding, and for once Karajan adds something to these wonderful scores.
