About the Actor
Offering passionate and inspirational positions that flow from the heart in a widespread practice known as Anusara Style yoga, Christina Castelanelli welcomes all to her class. Christina's first introduction to Anusara, founded by John Friend, was on the island of Kauai, where she has since studied with Noah Maze, Douglas Brooks, Paul Ortega Miller, and Sianna Sherman. Her journey to embrace internal beauty took her on a path stretching from Kauai to India and now she resides in Santa Barbara, California. Christina moves beyond traditional forms of yoga and opens a new path to harmony and humility. Intertwining the practice on the mat with daily life to bring more awareness into every moment and aspect of the day has created what Christina calls YogaPuri. Her intuitive nature allows her to reach each individual student to help them develop their own unique understanding of their body and the beauty within. Always a student, she uses her own practice to bring depth, understanding, and appreciation of yoga to her classes.
In both her public and private classes, Christina explores the Universal Principals of Alignment, encouraging the practitioner to develop both inner strength and a soft heart, allowing all to live in the flow of Grace. Hands on assistance and detailed verbal cues will be given in each class. Emphasis will be on refining awareness of alignment and developing more endurance and flexibility in the body through a variety of postures. This class is meant to empower both beginners and those with previous yoga experience to move to the next level of practice while introducing basic philosophy. Demonstrations and modifications are given to accommodate students at all levels.
