Great CD that is not on Itunes or Amazon digital download,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Balls (Audio CD)
I bought this used CD because the Album wasn't available on iTunes or Amazon digital download. It was earlier this year and I bought 3 songs, but for some reason it was taken off of the digital sites later this year. I heard this band on the U.K. Skins TV show.
PROS: -Good band, good music and great sound. Love the "Wall of Sound," or at least I think it is a wall of sound, feathered in various song. -If you like the group Band of Horses, you should like this band too. -Favorite songs, no particular order; It's All Over, Alone in the Make-Out Room, Trouble, and All I Want From You Is Some Effort. Cons: Non are the band's fault. Any and all issues were from the seller, and it wasn't really their fault. It just took one month for the CD to ship to the US from the UK

The Broken Family Band reminds me of a next generation Jason and Scorchers. They know of no way to play except all out. This is blazing alt country, hard rocking guitars and drums, with lyrics that -- depending on the cut -- are bitter, ironic, funny, and -- yes -- even romantic. No cut drops below four stars, but most are a full five. For an introduction, try You're Like a Woman, The Booze and the Drugs, For Milton Mapes, and the (shout out to Jason) scorching version of Leonard Cohen's Diamonds in the Mind, as fiery as Jason's take years ago on Absolutely Sweet Marie. If those grab you, you'll want the whole CD for sure.

I want to be like you...,

My favorite album of the year. And there have been a decent amount of great albums this year. This one stands out for a number of reasons. First of all, it's The Broken Family Band, they can do no wrong. Secondofly, from the rocking opener 'You're Like a Woman' to the poppy ender 'Diamond Mine' and all them others in betwixt, there is not a bad song (of course some are better than others [read: Track 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, & 9].) Also, the lyrics are just super. BUY IT! You won't regret not buying it because you'll never know, but you will be happy you did. Right? right. Bye.
P.S. I'll take you to a dark alley and stab you if you don't buy this album.
