The first three seasons of Ballykissangel are top notch. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the DVD's which are very poor quality. There is an overall graininess throughout and compression artifacts are visible to the point of being a distraction. If you are a Bally-K fan your options for owning the series are limited, but I would hold out for a remastered DVD, perhaps an anniversary edition down the road...

Anyone who enjoyed the first season of Ballykissangel will definitely love the second! All of the characters are more fully developed and new ones are introduced. The storyline is never dull, and some of the episodes delve into more serious issues. My only question is, when is the third season coming out?

I just find this a wonderful entertaining and enjoyable series. All the different parts played out in the series are exceptionally well done.I also find it most relaxing and a great way to put in a few hours to just sit back and enjoy.

In a show which appears to abound with possible anomalies, unexpectedly comes the most profound commonsense and, with it, immense enjoyment.

In a most unlikely Irish village, live a most unlikely group of villagers. A group which includes the good, the bad, and the rather stupid. Overseer, at the top of the hierarchy, is a non too pleasant, but feared, senior Priest. The foregoing would hardly make an aceptable show - let alone a great one. Ballykissangel is made great, truly great, by the inclusion to the above characters of a raw English born Priest, an attractive but atheist female Publican, a conscientious but fallible Policeman, a caring Schoolmaster and, lastly but crucially, a lovable rogue of a Businessman.

It would be unfair to pick any one actor as superior. The main characters are superbly played by the cast, while the 'lesser lights' are no less deserving of high praise.

Ballykissangel is a 'Fairy Tale', in that good invariably triumphs over evil but, the convoluted stories which evolve from the behaviour of the residents of this small community are suspenseful and highly entertaining. The writing, like the acting, is first rate.

This must be one of the most viewable of all the Drama/Comedies ever produced. One wishes one could live in Ballykissangel!

Things are often dull where I live, but I don't have to don a kilt and go hunting, just start up my dvd player and settle into an episode or two from the best year of BallyK. Magically, a beautiful, interesting world takes up where it was the last time I left. I wish there were a thousand episodes and a few full-length movies of Ballykissangel. But, given that I have six years of series' right now, (this item contained just Series Two) I can go right back to the beginning (Series One) whenever I reach the end at Series Seven. Closest thing to another life as you can get.

We love this series. We have bought the first 3 seasons and will be getting series 4 soon. It is funny, entertaining, and sad in parts but very engaging and like a good book, it is easy to feel a part of the people's lives in this series. My one wish for the video you can watch before ordering is, if each video was from that series and not just one from the first DVD. In season 4, I believe a lot of the characters leave the show so it would be helpful to get an idea of who and what will be happening next.

After viewing series one of Ballykissangel I couldn't wait to order and receive series two. Each episode is a complete storyline. I love the characters. In the first episode a local business man, Mr. Quigley orders a new confession box for the church. It comes with a fax and automatic doors. I can't devulge what happens when Father Peter and Mr. Quigley get trapped in the confession box. Its very funny. The quality of the dvds is exceptional.

Great British ensemble comedy. Everything was well done from the writing to the setting to the acting and the music. It took a little getting used to the Irish accents but I really liked it. Quirky characters that you can't help but like. Very funny situations. I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates British comedy. They really know how to do it right.

Ballykissangel series two was just as good as the first series which was fantastic. Lots of Irish humor as Father Clifford and Assumpta dance in their love hate relationship. Great characters. For One Night Only puts Father Clifford in an awkward position at the playhouse. Money, Money, Money shows community support for Katthleen with help from the racetrack. All very good stuff.

Just watched series 2 in one night and hated when it finished. Series 3 has been ordered. Makes me want to go to Ireland. The humour is very subtle. Something I'll watch again and again over the years.
